This is a review of another recording from Finland's solo project Nobody which shows the music going for a mixture of progressive rock and acoustic folk music with some touches of black metal and the ep was released by Inverse Records in 2023 and called "Father Of Lies".
Acoustic guitars start off the ep along with a good mixture of finger picking and full chords while also bringing in elements of folk music. Percussion can also b e heard at times as well as the vocals also bringing in more of a clean style and the solos and leads also bring in more of a 60's progressive rock direction.
All of the songs also sound very different from each other while a couple of songs also add in some clean electric guitars. Accordion's and other folk instruments can also b e heard briefly and at times the music also captures an occult atmosphere.
On this recording Nobody moves even more far away from the acoustic black metal style of earlier releases and goes into more of a progressive folk rock direction. The production sounds very dark while the lyrics cover Marquis De Sade, Karma, Love, Suicide and Depression themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Nobody and if you are a fan of progressive folk rock, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Divine Marquis" and "House Uphill". 8 out of 10.
