Thorns Of Ruins/Stellar Reverence/Satanath Records/Black Plague Records/Pagan Fury Records/2026 Full Length Review

  Thorns  Of  Ruins  are  a  solo  project  from  Norway  that  started  out  playing  a  more  traditional  form  of  black  metal  and  on  this  recording  goes  for  an  atmospheric  mixture  of  black,  doom  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2026  album  "Stellar  Reverence"  which  will  be  released  on  August  13th  as  a  joint  effort  between  Satanath,  Black  plague  and  Pagan  Fury  Records.

  A  very  heavy  yet  melodic  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  the  vocals  also  adding  in  a  mixture  of  black  metal  screams  and  death  metal  growls.  The  slower  sections  of  the  songs  also  add  in  elements  of  90's  era  atmospheric  doom  metal  while  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  add  in a   great  amount  of  melody.

  Spoken  words  and  clear  singing  can  also  be  heard  at  times  while  synths  are  also  utilized  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  album  along  some  clean  playing  also  being  added  on  a  few  tracks,  when  the  recording  speeds  up  a  lot  of  blast  beats  and  raw  tremolo  picking  can  also  be  heard  and  some  of  the  songs  also  add  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.

  Thorns  Of  Ruins  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  black  metal  and  mixes  it  with  90's  era  atmospheric  doom/death  metal  to  create  a  sound  of  his  own.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  melancholy  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Thorns  Of  Ruins  are  a  very  great  sounding  atmospheric  mixture  of  black,  doom  and  death  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  solo  project.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "A  Rusted  Hanging  Sun"  "In  Silence"  "Two  Steps  Away"  and  "Bringer  Of  Flame".  8  out  of  10.
