Antiversum are a band from Switzerland that plays a very aggressive mixture of black and death metal and this is a review if their 2015 demo "Total Vacuum" which will be re-issued on September, 9th 2023 by Necroeucharist Productions.
Dark soundscapes start off the demo before going into a heavier musical direction while most of the tracks a re also very long and epic in length. Vocals are a mixture of black metal screams and death metal growls and the faster sections of the songs also add in a great amount of brutal sounding blast b eats.
When tremolo picking is added into the fast riffing they also give the music more of a raw feeling while the songs also add in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. At time s the growls also get very bestial and cavernous sounding and some of t he riffing also adds in a small amount of dissonant touches.
Antiversum plays a musical style that takes a raw form of black emtal and mixes it with brutal death metal to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover chaos and emptiness of the universe.
In my opinion Antiversum are a very great sounding aggressive mixture of black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Finis Aeternitum" and "Total Vacuum". 8 out of 10.
