Heretic Cult Redeemer/In Oculum Chaos/Serpent Sun Records/2026 Full Length Review

Greece's  Heretic  Cult  Redeemer  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  an  avant  garde  style  of  occult  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2026  album  "In  Oculum  Chaos"  which  will  be  released  in  July  by  Serpent  Sun  Records.

A  very  dark,  heavy  and  dissonant  sound  starts  off  the  album  while  the  vocals  bring  in  more  of  an  angry  black  metal  style.  At  times  the  music  also  gets  very  avant  garde  sounding  along  with  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  blast  beats  are  added  into  the  faster  sections  of  the  recording.

Most  of  the  music  also  brings  a  more  modern  approach  to  the  genre  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  Spoken  words  can  also  be  heard  in  certain  sections  of  the  album  along  with  some  of  the  riffing  also  adding  in  melodies  and  one  track also  shows  the  music  also  going  into  more  of  a  ritualistic  direction,  clean  playing  and  clear  vocals  can  also  be  heard  on  a  couple  of  tracks.

On  this  recording  Heretic  Cult  Redeemer  brings  out  a  very  modern  and  avant  garde  style  of  occult  black  metal.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  Occultism  and  Luciferian  themes.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Heretic  Cult  Redeemer  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  avant g arde  occult  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "I  Saw  The  Void"  "The  Wonderous  Strand  Of  Time"  and  "An  Atavistic  Perfusion  of  The  Cosmic  Womb".  8  out  of  10.

Heretic Cult Redeemer/Flagellum Universalis/Ill Damnation/2023 Full Length Review

Heretic  Cult  Redeemer  are  a  band  from  Greece  that  has  been  featured  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  an  occult  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2023  album  "Flagellum  Universalis"  which  will b e  released  in  April  by  Ill  Dmnation.

A  very  fast  and  raw  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast b eats.  Melodies  are  also  added  into  a  lot  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams  as  well  as  the  riffing  also  going  more  of  a  dissonant  direction  at  times.

All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  tp  them  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  A  great  portion  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  along  with  the  solos  and  leads  also being  done  in  a  very  melodic  and  dissonant  style.

Semi  melodic  vocals  can  also  be  heard  at  times  along  with  some  death  metal  growls  also  being  added  into  certain  sections  of  the  recording  as  well a s  the  vocals  also  going  more  of  an  angry  shouting  direction  at  times  and  the  music  also  has  its  technical  moments  and  orchestral  sounds  can  also  be  heard  briefly.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  Eosphoric  self-knowledge,  Luciferian  and  Promethean  teachings.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Heretic  Cult  Redeemer  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  occult  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Lunar  Reign  -  Lunar  Apogee"  "The  Woven  Chords  of  Ecstasy"  and  "Eyes  of  The  Saturnian  Dawn".  8/5  out  of  10.

Heretic Cult Redeemer Interview

1. Can you tell us a little bit about the band for those that have never heard of you before?
We are a Black Metal band from Athens, GR founded in 2009. The band was created by Funus (ex-Acrimonious), D (bass), and T (guitar). Our first self titled full length album has just finished and we are about to release it. The drum throne for the recordings had been taken by V (Embrace Of Thorns,Necrovorous).
2. How would you describe your musical sound?
We represent the dark side of music from our point of view. In any form can be possible. We don't have boundaries, so i think our musical style is the bringer of heretical sound and philosophy.
3. What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the music?
The material universe is but a small part of overall reality, which encompasses many more fields and modes of consciousness. Our lyrics are bound with the awareness of other aspects of reality which can complete knowledge and maximal power in the universe.
4. What is the meaning and inspiration behind the bands name?
HCR is a conioum speech, the fifth angel of Apocalypse who came on earth to poisoning the minds and souls of human kind. The arc of Death, rising from the gut of the Giant Sun and spews fire into a malevolent curse that putrefies all existence.
5. Has the band done any live shows or is this a studio project?
We haven't done any live shows yet, but we are not a studio project either. Our first priority this period is the release of "HERETIC CULT REDEEMER".
6. Currently you are unsigned, are you looking for a label and if so what kind of label do you feel that would be a perfect fit for the music?
Yes, we are looking for a label right now. Our criteria for the labels we are in touch, are the quality of their previous projects and the way they can approach our philosophy. It's a need to understand how we transform our beliefs into musical forms and art generally.
7. On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of black metal?
Untill now our two promo songs have been welcomed from many fans of the underground black metal scene. We hope this will spread like a disease!
8. Are there any other musical projects going on these days or is this a full time line up?
We have several projects running, but HCR are our first priority.
9. What direction do you see your music heading into on future releases?
We are continuously working and i think our new material is more complex and intelligent than ever before. We are the poimnion of Lizard creating art blessed by Him.
10. What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
Venom , Bathory , Celtic Frost , old Mayhem, Possesed , Mortuary Drape ect. and any musical style it's dark and mystic. From the new wave, we are into bands like Deathspell Omega, Ascension and Funeral Mist.
11. How would you describe your views on Occultism?
For me, occultism power founds in the center of consciousness ,vibrating by the will. Every human being enters the world possessed with endless existence but the soul always is identified with the body. If you don't overcome your physical resurrection, the passage to other aspects of reality would clash. We have to "stretch" the material universe. Pull it towards to a magnetic force, so our needs to fruition. The ultimate being is self-made. That's our goal.
12. Any final words or thoughts before we wrap up this interview?
Listen to HCR and spread the word of heretic sound and philosophy.

Heretic Cult Redeemer/2013 Promo Review

Heretic  Cult  Redeemer  are  a  band  from  Greece  that  plays  a  very  raw  and  primitive  form  of  occult  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2013  promo.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  some  blast  beats  being  utilized  at  times,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  are  coming  out of  the  guitars.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  black  metal  riffs  that  are  very  raw  and  primitive  sounding  with  some  early  2000's  influences  from  the  orthodox  black  metal  movement  as  well  as  a  great  amount  of  dark  sounding  melodies  being  thrown  into  the  riffing,  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  dark  sounding  black  metal  guitar  solos  and  leads.

Vocals  are  mostly  hateful  sounding  high  pitched  black  metal  with  some  deeper  vocals  being used  at  times  as  well  as  some  Gregorian  chants,  while  the  lyrics  cover  occult  and  metaphysical  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  dark,  raw  and  primitive  sound  to  it  with  the  last  song  being  long  and  epic  in  length.

In  my  opinion  Heretic  Cult  Redeemer  are  a  very  great  sounding  dark,  raw  and  primitive  occult  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  promo.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Unholy  Salvation".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
