Arkhon Infaustus/In Sperma Infernum/Impure Wedding Productions/2021 EP Re-Issue Review

Arkhon  Infaustus  are  a  band  from  France  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  on  this  recording  played  a  satanic  and  bestial  mixture  of  war,  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  1998  ep  "In  Sperma  Inferna"  which  was  re-issued  in  2021  by  Impure  Wedding  Productions.

A  very  dark  yet  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  ep  while  you  can  also  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  this  recording.  High  pitched  black  metal  screams  are  also  utilized  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  tracks  along  with  the  vocals  also  mixing  in  a  good  amount  of  bestial  death  metal  growls.

When  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  tremolo  picking,  blast  beats  and  war  metal  elements  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  as  well  as  one  track  also  adding  in  a  brief  use  of  horror  movie  style  keyboards  but  keeping  the  main  focus  on  a  heavier  style  and  as  the  ep  progresses  a  small  amount  of  dark  sounding  melodies  can  also  be  heard.

On  this  recording  Arkhon  Infaustus  brought  in  a  very  raw  and  satanic  mixture  of  war,  black  and  death  metal  as  well  as  being  mostly  focused  on  the  blackened  side  of  the  style  back  in  the  earlier  days.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Blasphemy,  Sexual  Perversions  and  Depravity  themes.

In  my  opinion  this  was  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Arkhon  Ifaustus  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw,  old  school.  satanic,  bestial,  war  black  and  death  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  re-issue.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Machiavellian  Knights"  and  "The  Black  Succubus  Whores".  8  out  of  10.

Arkhon Infaustus/Passing The Nekromanteion/Les Acteurs de l'Ombre Productions/2017 CD Review

Arkhon  Infaustus  are  a  band  from  France  that  has  an  album  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  a  bestial  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2017  album  "Passing  The  Nekromanteion"  which  will  be  released  in  October  by  Les  Acteurs  de l'Ombre  Productions.

Dark  yet  melodic  riffing  starts   off  the  album  while  also  being  very  heavy  at  the  same  time  along  with  all  of  the  musical  instruments  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  after  awhile  death  metal  growls  as  well  as some  ritualistic  chanting  starts  to  make  their  presence  known  and  psychedelic  touches  are  also  used  briefly.

All  of  the  tracks  are  very  long  and  epic  in  length  while  tormented  black  metal  screams  are  also  utilized  at  times  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard  along  with  the  songs  also  bringing  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  the  riffing  also  mixes  in  a  decent  amount  of  dissonant  structures,  when  tremolo  picking  is  utilized  it  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling  and  when  guitar  leads  are  utilized  they  are  done  in  a  very  dark  and  melodic  fashion  and  they  close  the  album  with  an  instrumental.

On  this  recording  Arkhon  Infaustus  remain  true  to  a  satanic  and  occult  style  of  black/death  metal  that  was  established  on  previous  releases  while  also  updating  their  sound  for  a  more  modern  era  as  well  as displaying  a  great  amount  of  progress  and  skill  as  musicians,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Occultism  and  Left  Hand  Path  themes.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great sounding  recording  from  Arkhon  Infaustus  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  band,  you  should  enjoy  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The  Precipice  Where  Souls  Wither"  and  "Corrupted  Epignosis".  8  out  of  10.

Arkhon Infaustus/Hell Injection/Osmose Productions/2001 CD Review

Arkhon Infaustus are a band from France that mixes the most brutal elements of black/death/war metal to create their own form of satanic metal and this is a review of their 2001 album "Hell Injection" which was released by Osmose Productions.

Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars and at times they sound very powerful.

Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast riffs that combine the most brutal elements of black, death and war metal together to create a very heavy sound, while the lead guitars are very chaotic sounding black/death metal guitar solos and leads.

Vocals range from high pitched black/war metal screams to deep death metal growls with some spoken word parts, while the lyrics cover satanic, anti christian and perverted themes, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful and brutal sound to it.

In my opinion Arkhon Infaustus are a very good brutal sounding black/death/war metal hybrid and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Brethen Of Flesh" "Dead Cunt Maniac" "The Whorehouse Coven" and "Hokus Demons". RECOMMENDED BUY.
