Grohot/Faunul din Smidă/Hranind gurile infometate/2024 Split Album Review

 

  This  is  a  review  of  a  self  released  album  between  Romania's  Grohot  and  Faunul  din  Smidă  called  "Hranind  gurilw  infometate"  which  was  released  in  2024  and  we  will  start  off  the  review  with  Grohot  a  band  that  plays  a  very  raw  form  of  black  metal.

  Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  some  drum  beats  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and  raw  musical  direction  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast b eats.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams. 

   Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  as  well  as  the  guitar  leads  also  being  done  in  a  very  melodic  style.  and  the  closing  track  also  adds  in  a  small  amount  of  slower  riffing  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  and  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Romanian  and  covert  darkness  and  pain  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Groehot  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  their  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Morminte  uitate".

  Next  up  is  Faunul  din  Smidă  a  solo  project  that  plays  a  very r aw  and  atmospheric  form  of  black  metal.

  His  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  dark  yet  melodic  sound  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams.  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling  and  the  music  also  has  its  atmospheric  moments.

  Throughout  his  side  of  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  alo0ng  with  the  guitar  leads  also  being  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  when  they  are  utilized,  clean  playing  and  synths  can  also  be  heard  briefly.  the  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  and  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Romanian  and  cover  darkness  and  occultism  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Faunul  din  Smidă  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  and  atmospheric  black  metal  solo  project  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  his  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Dogma  mutilator".

  In  conclusion  I  feel  this  is  a  review  great  sounding  split  and I  would  recommend  it  to  all  fans  of  raw  black  metal.
