Angr Interview

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?

1.S.:We started our way in February 2020. Our group consists of two musicians. Me - S., I record all the instruments, write music, lyrics and make musical arrangements.

Corpse took over as vocalist. Everything related to vocals, its sound, accents, vocal arrangement, arrangement of verses in the composition are totally the result of his creative impulse.

At the moment, the roles are distributed in this way. But this is not a strict rule.

The concept of our band is quite simple, but at the same time, it reflects our fundamental notions about cultural phenomenon of black metal, its form and content. We embody our ideas and reading of genre in music being a part of this musical phenomenon.

2. Recently the band has released a new album, can you tell us a little bit more about the musical style that you went for on the recording?

S.: We didn't choose the style for the album. We are not session musicians or artisans who make songs by order, according to another's standards.
As creators we wrote the music that, in our opinion, most organically combined appropriate atmosphere and the implements with which the music was created. We didn't follow any canons and rules, but at the same time we didn't aim to be the most unique and experimental. We didn't have a goal to say something new, previously unknown with our music, we didn't try to be too original. As a result, we got music that fully satisfied our needs. Our interest in black metal, that didn't leave us all our conscious life, naturally led us to this musical style – style that we embodied in this album through the prism of our personalities.

3.One of the band members is also a part of 'Temple Of Nihil', musically how do you feel the music of 'Angr' differs from the musical style of the previous mentioned band?

Corpse: What these two projects have in common is the direction of the genre. Each listener of the genre has its own formed idea about the style in general. I also have my own tastes and notion of Black metal. The first one is what we do with Temple of Nihil. The second is what I managed to implement in ANGR. Both projects relate to the same genre, but follow different, parallel paths to each other. My creative ideas are perfectly intertwined with the work of S. (ANGR). And this is mutual.

4.The lyrics cover gloomy images of European Culture form the pre-Christian era, can you tell us a little bit more about your interest in this topic and also the decision to bring this out in your songwriting?

S.: This topic is worth a separate interview. But without going into details, in my opinion, the authentic beliefs and culture of European peoples in more ancient times, before the Christianity, are quite far from the modern man's view of “paganism” in his fantasy interpretation for escapist entertainments. The archetypes generated by this cultural substrate are harsh and beautiful, they are cruel and dark in their essence, that makes them perfectly compatible with the music we create. I wouldn't want to become the author of lyrics dedicated to fake "Satanism" or a fantasy version of "paganism". Of course, I avoid extrapolations, but nevertheless many representatives of the genre make clownery out of these deep and serious topics. At the same time, in my lyrics I didn't look for opponents, didn't endow the narrative with the image of an enemy in the form of a church, Christ, or someone else. I acted as a kind of observer while writing the lyrics.

5.One of the tracks is also titled 'Ymir', do you have an interest in Nordic Paganism?

S.: As part of the cultural heritage of Europe, Scandinavian paganism  is definitely interesting to us in many aspects related to the concept of lyrics that has developed in our album. This song tells that Ymir, the first living being in the universe, was killed by Aesir and his body was used to create the world, thus the world that appeared from the body of a dead man was imperfect and finite, a curse lay upon it. The world, created from a corpse, inevitably decays and sooner or later perishes under the influence of external forces. In the beliefs of the northerners those forces are described as chthonic monsters that will converge with the gods in the last battle of this world - Ragnarok.
However, we don't profess any cults and religions associated with Germanic or Scandinavian paganism, we don't belong to the communities of Åsatru adherents or any similar. We are not on a religious mission, and we are not preachers.
We leave ourselves freedom in further creativity and lyrical images that can be used for writing lyrics. But, as I mentioned above, the dark sides of European culture before the emergence of Christianity are a powerful source of inspiration for writing.

6.I know that the band name means 'anger' in Old Norse, how does this name fit in with the musical style that you play?

S.: Despite some melodic elements of songs, our music is unlikely to have a melancholic and depressive mood. While writing music I wanted to reveal precisely the rage and aggression coupled with the oppressive dark atmosphere that I valued in black metal. Therefore, the title reflects the fundamental mood of the music performed by ANGR. This name fits very well to briefly describe our music and the range of emotions that dominates in it.

7.There are only 2 members in the band , do you feel this gives you more freedom to accomplish what you set out to do musically?

S.: We have a creative symbiosis, so it is unlikely that there will be more musicians. Although, guests and session musicians for certain work under our control are possible. We can change some roles if we consider it necessary.

8.Currently the band is unsigned, are you looking for a label or have received any interest?

S.: We are ready to consider offers from labels, for example, to publish physical copies of our albums, including the released album. Of course, we are ready to entrust the serious work of distribution on the Internet and its control to the label, but only to the one that keeps its commitments. The level of a quasi-label with a weird distribution on online platforms and irresponsible attitude towards their obligations doesn't suit us. So, now we rely primarily on our own strength, but we are open to offers.

9.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of black metal?

S.: We get mostly positive feedback, from Occult Black Metal Zine as well.

10.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

S.:
We plan to continue creating music, we will soon begin work on the next album, the instrumental part of which is ready in the form of written compositions, but there is a lot of work to achieve results.
We also plan to work on a split with Temple of Nihil on some exclusive compositions, but they won't be included in any album.

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

S.: Of course, I prefer black metal, but I don't restrict myself, I like good works in completely different genres of music. All musicians are influenced by listening to music and their tastes. This succession can be traced in absolutely everyone. This is how we are made, alas. I would like to avoid names in this question to avoid false associations. For some reason, some people compared us to Mayhem, but for me it is a compliment to match the level of the album De mysteriis Dom Sathanas. This is a real masterpiece in every sense.

12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

S.: It is difficult to wish something to people I've never met and never knew. Anyway, thanks for your time! As Nietzsche said - Without music, life would be a mistake.

NortherN Interview

1.Can you give us an update on what has been going on with the band since the recording and release of the new album?

Greeting from  good ol' New Hampshire. Basically I have a new C.N.V. album written which will have an anglo Saxon medieval theme. It is called "Disenchantment" and will have songs with titles like "Castle Doctrine" and "Heavy is the Head that Wears the Crown". It will be more miserable than the wives of King Henry the 8th.

2.recently you have released a new album, musically how does it differ from the stuff you have released in the past?

It is Darker sounding  and more depressive than our first album under the NortherN banner. I want to go into the abyss with this band but also have it  reflect grim reality and the area from which I have spent most of my days... New Hampshire / Maine.

You can find maybe more traces of death metal and a lower tuning also. The song "Darshana" is more Cold Wave rather than Black Metal. So there are slight deviations from the norm.

3.A lot of your more recent lyrics are inspired by the lore of the area where you reside, can you tell us a little bit more about the lyrical topics and subjects you explore with the newer music?

Basically I am a truck driver in rural areas of the Northeast and I just sort of absorb it and out it comes. I study the history and how tourists have froze to death here trying to hike the mountains. The "Cabin Fever" album  has nothing to do with man's triumphant ascent to the summit. It is the opposite of that. It is "the Abomination of Desolation".

My idea behind the album started by finding an abandoned falling down cabin in the woods . It just went from there... Think of New Hampshire as a state where people don't like being told what to do. People that don't trust the government and like to live within the bounty of nature ... A lot of contempt for man in this state and I love that. GG Allin could only be from New Hampshire.

"Live Free or Die" is the state motto. It does not get more American than that.

4.A lot of your older lyrics where more about the Occult and Paganism, can you tell us a little bit more about your views on these topics and also how has your interest in these paths evolved over the years?

I was drawn to the occult, Satanism, and Paganism as a kid before I even got into Metal. One of the only classes I ever got straight A's in was Greek Mythology.

Paganism to me is gnosis from Nature. The more time you spend in it you realize the wave builds to crash. The roots go to darkness and the branch to the light. The leaves are leaving and returning. The dark holds the light.

Rather than go into a long winded essay on this subject I will leave you with this. "Paradoxical undressing is removal of one's clothing while in a state of hypothermia. "

That says it all without saying it. Buy the NortherN "Cabin Fever" album  rather than download it. There by doing as the old timers did... Actually opening up the case and reading the lyrics and seeing the imagery,  it might dawn on you. The dark light.

5.Originally the band was known as 'Cold Northern Vengeance', can you tell us a little bit more about the name change?

Cold Northern Vengeance is Paganism , medieval times, Occultism and NortherN is for all the Evil in  New Hampshire and Maine. One is the shadow of the other.

6.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the new album cover?

It is an old picture  of New Hampshire . Rugged frontier and Cold desolation. It will put hair on your chest. Take a shot of whiskey with it bub.

7.The band has been around since 2002 And were a part of the early era of USBM, do you feel that black metal in the United States has changed for the worse in the lad decade and the music has lost its original meaning?

Yes I feel it has changed for the worse. I just don't care what the scene is around here. It is a bunch of sheeple saying stuff like "Black Lives Matter" and voting for communists like Bernie Sanders while trying to re brand / steal  something that was never meant for them.

To quote Boyd Rice when he was asked about this millennial generation rainbow Satanism he said "You are co opting something that is your antithesis."

8.In the last few years a lot of the veterans in black metal have had problems getting shows booked due to the political climate and you hardly ever see good black metal shows even with some of the mandates even being lifted, what effect has this had on your band being able to book shows?

We don't play shows pretty much . Not anymore unless I try to put something together. The last show we played was with Horna in 2019. Antifa threw a hissy fit and tried to get it shut down but we prevailed because the owner of the venue hates them.

NortherN is pretty much barred from playing anywhere in New England aside from New Hampshire or maybe Maine at a house party. I refuse to "play by the rules" and wear hipster glasses or wave a hammer and sickle flag or show my vaxx card while testing HIV positive. "Woke" means Joke hahaha...

I would rather eat a bowl of Fruity Pebbles out of Aunt Jemima's stank ass crack than fit in with the "scene" . I am the outsider ... I don't fit in. I am on the outside looking in.

9.What are some of the best shows that the band has played over the years and also how would you describe your stage performance?

We opened for Angel Corpse and Vahhhhtain ( pronounce it like a Vampire ) in 2007 to a sold out crowd. That one stands out. The last show we played opening for Horna was pretty killer... We did a "Cabin Fever" set.

I would say if the band is "in the zone" our performances are often Trance like. Ideally they put you in that sort of "other" realm. That is if it happens to go well.

10.The new album was released on 'Sinistrari Records', how would you compare working with this label to your previous label 'Moribund Records'.?

So far so good... Sinistrari is the old guard. The old USBM which is all that matters for me. GBK needs to release a new one on Sinistrari.

The new Martial Barrage on Sinistrari is pretty fucking sick too . Check that out!

11.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your newer music by fans of black metal?

The album was just released so it is hard to tell but so far it has a great response from the people that are into real black and death. I am totally happy with new album. Whether it is popular or whatever is secondary .

12.What is going on with some of the other bands or musical projects these days that some of the band members are a part of?

I have a death metal project called DOMINION that will teach the millennials how it is done... Coming soon!!! Sinistrari will release it!

13.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

I see us just working on concept albums. Albums that have a theme with lyrics that have deep meaning . The next album will be C.N.V. called "Disenchantment" and I see a vision of stockpiling guns for the next NortherN with a "Contempt For The Urbanite"... Off the grid Black Metal.

NortherN is putting imagination back into the genre . Something that it totally lacks because the millennials are too busy taking selfies , playing video games and overdosing on heroin.

14.What are some of the bands or musical styles these days that some of the band members are a part of?

Just DOMINION which is Death Metal very influenced by stuff like old Morbid Angel. I also have some country music in the vein of Hank Williams but not sure what will come if it.

Claytanas the drummer used to be in Desolate.

15.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

Thank you and I want to leave you with some profound truth from this 1980's sitcom:

"You take the good

You take the bad

You take them both and there you have the facts of life

The facts of life

There's a time you got to go

And show you're growin'

Now you know about the facts of life

The facts of life

When the world never seems

To be living up to your dreams

Then suddenly you're finding out

The facts of life are all about you. "

When  tremolo  picking  is  added  onto  the  track  it  also  gives  the  recording  more  of  a  raw  feeling  while  elements  of  thrash  metal  can  also  be  heard  at  times  along  with  the  vocals  being  mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams.

On  this  track  Keiser  brings  in  more  of  a  traditional   and  old  school  approach  to  black  metal  as  well  as  remaining  modern  at  the  same  time.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while t he  lyrics  cover  warriors  and  battle  themes.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  track  from  Keiser  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  old  school  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  single.  8  out  of  10.

Omhosten Interview

.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the musical project?

-This is a project that combines the melody and aggression characteristic of black metal of the 90s.

2.In January you have your first full length coming out, can you tell us a little bit more about the musical style that you went for on the recording?

-My style can be described as melodic melancholic atmospheric black metal.

3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects you have explored so far with the music?

-The texts are based on misanthropic themes, complemented by self-destruction, chaos and the inevitable end of everything.

4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Omhosten'?

-Omhosten means "Autumn" in Norwegian, it was this time of the year (especially late) that inspired me to create a musical project where, with the help of music, I wanted to convey all the gloom and dampness of this season.

5.Can you tell us a little bit more on the artwork that is presented on the album cover?

-The cover depicts an autumn landscape with a bridge. The bridge is a symbol widespread in different cultures. This is a symbol of the difficult transition between the world of the living and the world of the dead.  He can embody a difficult emotional period in life.

6.With the exception of a few session musicians you record most of the music by yourself, are you open to working with a full band or do you prefer to work solo?

-I prefer to create music alone, but when it comes to recording live drums, for example, you cannot do without the help of friends, as for future plans, it is difficult to say, I will most likely work in a solo mode as before.

7.The album is coming out on 'Kvlt und Kaos Productions', how did you get in contact with this label?

-I saw in the fb news that my comrades from the Demonologist group are published on 'Kvlt und Kaos Productions', so I found out about them.

8.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of black metal?

-I cannot say that yet, because before publishing at 'Kvlt und Kaos Productions' I had not shown Omhosten's music to anyone.

9.So far very little is known about the project, are you planning on expanding your presence in the future or do you prefer to keep a lower profile?

-Of course, I do not plan to stop, at the moment I am working on writing two tracks in the same genre, since I try to do everything myself, most likely I will remain in the shadows.

10.Where do you see yourself heading into as a musician during the future?

-In the future, I prefer to remain a guitarist, bassist and vocalist.

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays

-Basically these are all varieties of black metal, the Norwegian Swedish Finnish scene had a big influence on me at the time, at the moment I listen to Watain, Noenum, Abyssic Hate, Nocturnal Depression, Elysian Blaze and Judas Iscariot who had a great influence on me.

12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

-I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the bands Deathincarnation and Sauroctonos,

Website: https://www. kvltundkaosproductions.com/ omhosten

it is thanks to them that I write my name in the history of music.

Léthifère Interview

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?

BC : It started in 2021 as a solo project for which I needed a singer, and after seeing a performance by Erroiak I decided to contact him. He agreed to record vocals as he liked the music I made, and the concept I would developp in the lyrics and visuals. I'm always thinking, recording, writing new music and stuff, and at some point I need to shape it as a real project.

2.Recently you have released an ep, can you tell us a little bit more about the musical style that you went for on the recording?

Basically I had in mind some kind of classic black metal, brutal with melodic touch. Nothing more than music I like. Then music writing came quite naturally for most of this ep songs, with a logical progression and an epic touch. If you listen well, every song's end contains a riff, melody or note which is used for the next song's begining. As a result the whole record could be considered as one track.

3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band has explored so far with the music?

I wrote about differents ways a human mind could really wish to die. Whether it's from substance abuse, mental illness, coma or depression. Even if the four songs are not related in the stories they tell, this is the common concept they share. And as the music, you can also considere these four as a whole story and the songs titles can be read consecutively with sense. The ep's title means "envy the death".

4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Léthifère'?

It's a french adjective for anything that can cause death. Whether it's a person, event, item...

5.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the ep cover?

It's a simple way to show the human's death, like a mirror when you hold the object in front of your face, maybe to make you think about all the reasons you could have to die, or on the contrary those which makes you want to live?

6.Currently there are only 2 members in the band, are you open to expanding your line up or do you prefer to remain a duo?

No for the moment, there is no plan to expand the line up, nor to play live shows.

7.The ep was released on 'Ancestrale Production', can you tell us a little bit more about this label?

It's my label, started back in 2009, focused on black metal and mainly with french bands. I released for example Darkenhöld, Fhoi Myore, Neptrecus first albums, as well as my other project Aeterna Tenebrae. The label has less activity since around 2014, and for the future I don't plan to release other projects than mine.

8.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of black metal?

Quite good, some really like and some don't, as for most of music. In both cases, I like to hear why with good arguments. But it's not something that I care a lot, the most important is how I'm satisfied with what I make.

9.What is going on with some of the other bands or musical projects these days that some of the band members are a part of?

Aeterna Tenebrae's second full length album is composed, remains the lyrics, artwork and final recordings. Maybe in 2022? I don't know yet. I play also in the band Asilian some kind of death metal and we are also recording a first album. Erroiak has work to do with his solo project and Enterré Vivant, among other.

10.When can we expect a full length and also where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

A new song will be available in 2022, for the begining of a new record. For now I can't say if it's going to be another ep or a full length, but I plan a new release around the end of this year. The musical direction won't change at all.

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

I can't really name the influences on my music, after years and years of listening to a lot of bands. I guess it's uncounscious and comes out randomly when I think about riffs, others listeners could do this by themselves and I don't think this is very important. When making music, I stop listening to others for a while, to focuse and try to create the most personal music I can. I listen every day to different styles and bands, new or old, that's one positive point with internet nowadays. Recently I was a lot into Duskmourn, The Committee, Mare Cognitum, Havukruunu, Thulcandra for example.

12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

Thanks for your interest and support, you can listen to Léthifère on bandcamp and other streaming platforms, and the Digipak CD is still available. Here is all the links

Aegrus/The Carnal Temples/Osmose Productions/2022 EP Review

Finland's  Aegrus  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  continues  the  occult  and  satanic  style  of  black  metal  from  their  previous  releases  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  ep  "The  Carnal  Temples"  which  will  be  released  in  2022  by  Osmose  Productions.

A  very  heavy  and  aggressive  sound  starts  off  the  ep  while  all  of  the  tracks  are  long  and  epic  in  length.  Vocals  are  mostly  grim  yet  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  along  with  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs   also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  which  also  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  Growls  are  also  added  into  some  parts  of t he  recording  along  with  the  solos  and  leads  also  being  done  in  a  very  dark  yet  melodic  style  as  well  as  the  music  also  being  heavily  rooted  in  the  old  school  style  of  the  genre,  one  of  the  tracks  also  introduces  clean  playing  onto  the  recording.

On  this  releases  Aegrus  remains  true  to  the  satanic  and  old  school  style  of  black  metal  that  has  been  established  on  previous  releases.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  devil  worship  and  occultism  themes.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Aegrus  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  occult  and  satanic  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INLUDE  "In  Death  Rapture"  and  "Flesh  And  Blood".  8  out  of  10.

Zaslon Interview

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?

W.Iwanowicz: I started Zasłon as a studio project to implement ideas that I could not bring to life in previous (not bm) bands. This form suits me because now I have little time and opportunity to engage in a regular band.Vocalist (thóryvos) also sings in Επιλέξετε θάνατος and in some other bm projects.

2.Recently you have released an ep, can you tell us a little bit more about the musical style that you went for on the recording?

W.: I wanted it to be fast, short, raw tracks with a certain melody. The foundation of old-school Black metal with a touch of modern influences. Despite the fact that this is a studio project, the tracks were conceived in such a way that they would be good enough for live performance. All guitar parts are recorded on the bass. By the way, they sound quite similar. During recording and mixing i dealt with open minded people, so there were no problems with it.

3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band has explored so far with the music?

W.: The lyrics contains existential themes of life and death. Torments and ideas of martyrdom that haunt a person until his last breath. I was mostly inspired by "The Preachers of Death" and "Voluntary Death" Nitzshe's "Thus Spoke Zarathustra". For this reason, I used the passage as a preface.

4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Zaslon'?

W.: It's a transliteration (заслон) of Russian military term Defensive screen. Also In this spelling "Zasłon" it is a reference to the Polish black metal scene, just like my nickname.

5.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the ep cover?

W.: The cover and logo started it all. They were made by russian artist Molochko even before the music. They pair very well with music and the general message.

6.Has the band done any live shows or open to the idea?

W.: Not yet, we are planning to perform after we have some more tracks and time for rehearsals.

7.So far very little is known about the band. are you planning on expanding your presence in the future or do you prefer to keep a lower profile?

W.: We prefer to stay in the shadows. Everything you need you can hear, read and see on the release or live gigs in future.

8.Cureentlythe band is unsigned, are you looking for a label or have received any interest?

W.: Physical copies are an important part of the scene. As for the next release, it will definitely be published. First we need to record the material, then we can talk specifically about it.

9.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of black metal?

W.: The release is currently only on the bandcamp. It haven't come out on the streaming services yet. We are only at the beginning of the road.

I haven't done any promotion yet, made a small newsletter on foreign blogs and websites. I like the process itself, each review and feedback is already an achievement.

10.When can we expect a full length and also where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

W.: I plan to record 3-4 more songs in the near future. It will also be necessary to devote time to promotion. Then we will prepare for a live show. It will be possible to talk about LP later.

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

W.: I listen to a lot of different music and styles, sometimes even what I don't like. As for the influence on me it's early Immortal and Emperor. As for thóryvos it's Warloghe, Horna, Sargeist, Belketre.

12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

W.: There are preachers of death: and the earth is full of those to whom desistance from life must be preached.

Thy Tongue Interview

.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the solo project?

Thy Tongue is a Japanese solo black metal project founded in 2021.

I’ve started a symphonic black metal project called Quoth the Raven in 2019, and then I want to play music which focuses guitar more, so I’ve founded Thy Tongue.

While Quoth the Raven is inspired by myths and poetry such as Edgar Allan Poe, Thy Tongue treats the dark themes such as death, suffering, fanaticism and so on.

2.So far you have released an ep, can you tell us a little bit more about the musical style that you went for on the recording?

As you pointed out, the EP is mainly influenced by mid 90’s black metal, specifically Norwegian bands such as Mayhem, Darkthrone, Immortal, Kvist etc… And I am inspired by some Japanese black metal bands influenced by LLN like Manierisme.

The weird single notes and layer of melodies are slightly LLN style.

Although I’m influenced by many black metal bands, basically, I always try to write riffs which have dark, sad and solemn touches.

3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects you have explored so far with the music?

This is a concept album about a fictional religion which declares life is just pain and death is only salvation.

The name of the first song “The grace of the Lord be with all” is quoted from the bible, but the “Lord” does not mean God. It means death, not reaper. If you turn up the volume and listen to carefully, you can hear some words that induce you to kill yourself.

As the title describes, “Prayer I” and “Prayer II” are prayers to death. The lyrics worship death, praise people who kill themselves as noble, and assert that now is the time to be free from the pain of life.

The last song “Salvation” draws the scene of the mass suicide of believers. In the song, the guru declare that suicide is not only the way to be free from pain but also the perfect way to express hatred against this world. The lines of outro portrays the image of countless suicides covering the earth and the blood of them spelling the hymn to death.

You can hear some quotation from the bible. It means this fictional religion is derived from christianity.

By the way, the concept doesn’t have any intention to insult christianity. In the first place, I don’t believe in any kinds of religion. I’m not satanist of course.

4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Thy Tongue’?

I use the word “Tongue” as words. So Thy Tongue means “your words”.

Commonly, human beings are influenced by others. What we speak and what we think is influenced by what we’ve seen and heard. Music also affects us in many ways, and it may shape our thoughts sometimes.

As I told, Thy Tongue music is influenced by many black metal bands. In that point, I can say Thy Tongue is a crystal of many black metal band’s words. And of course, Thy Tongue may be your words in some way.

And what is more important is the name sounds evil.

5.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the ep cover?

It is “Death on horseback holding a trumpet, from 'The five deaths’” by Stefano della Bella, Italian artist who lived in 17th century.

6.With this project you record everything by yourself, are you open to working with other musicians or do you prefer to work solo?

Although I want to work with other musicians, there is no musicians who have similar taste in music around me. In addition, I have not enough time to cooperate with other musicians recently, so I will do solo work for the time being.

But if there is a band who has similar value, I want to work with in the form of split album or so.

7.So far very little is known about the solo project, do you prefer to keep a lower profile?

It’s just that there is no interesting information about this project. So if I get questions I will answer as far as I can.

8.Currently you are unsigned, are you looking for a label or have received any interest?

I have not received any interest, so now I’m looking for a label.

9.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of black metal?

Unfortunately, I have hardly got the reaction. There are fairly downloads but there are no reviews except here.

If it is possible, I want to read reviews and know what people think about my music.

10.When can we expect a full length and also where do you see yourself heading into as a musician during the future?

I don’t have enough time to write full length now, so it will be in two or three years later.

For the time being, I will mainly release eps and single.

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

When it comes to this project, Thy Tongue is mainly influenced by mid 90’s black metal, particularly Mayhem, Immortal, Darkthrone, Kvist, Satyricon, Lord Belial, Taake and so on. And this project is also influenced by LLN and LLN style Japanese black metal bands such as Manierisime, Arkha Sva etc…

As for my taste in music, I listen to black metal as described above and more melodic and symphonic ones like Dissection, Sargeist, Glorior Belli, Der Weg einer Freiheit, Departure Chandelier, Akhlys, Ulver, Anorexia Nervosa, Emperor, Pensees Nocturnes and Cradle of Filth…There are ever so many more.

Apart from black metal, I listen to melodic death metal - old In Flames is where my metal life began, classical music -Bach is great-, jazz, post rock, dark folk and so on.

Recently, I often listen to Lilium and Thurnin. They are good dark folk bands.
