SEAD/Raw Black Metal/Wolfmond Production/2022 Full Length Review

 

  Germany's  solo  project  SEAD  has  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  more  of  a  raw  and  improvised  style  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2022  album  "Raw  Black  Metal"  which  was  released  by  Wolfmond  Production.

  A  very  dark  yet  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  album  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams.  Dark  sounding  melodies  can  also  be  heard  in  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  at  times  along  with  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  adding  in a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  which  also  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

  The  music  also  adds  in  a  great  amount  of  old  school  influences  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  All  of  the  music  is  also  improvised  along  with  all  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  as  well  as  a  couple  of  songs  also  introducing  clean  playing  onto  the  album.

  On  this  recording  SEAD  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  raw  and  improvised  as  well  as  being  recorded  while  it  was  being  created.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  and  the  lyrics  are  written  in  German  and  cover  dark  and  violent  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  album  from  SEAD  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  and  improvised  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Der  Untergang"  "Dad  Blut"  and  "Raw  Black  Metal".  8  out  of  10.

SEAD/Reise in eine Mystische Welt (Demoversions)/Wolfmond Producitons/2022 Demo Review

 

  SEAD  are  a  solo project  form  Germany  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  a  very  raw  and  chaotic  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2022  demo  "Reise  in  eine  Mystische  Welt"  which  was  released  by  Wolfmond  Productions.

  A  very  dark,  heavy  and  lo-fi  sound  starts  off  the  demo  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and  raw  musical  direction  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast beats.  Vocals  are  mostly  grim  yet  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  the  music  also  adds  in  a  lot  of  90's  era  influences.    

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  dark  sounding  melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  along  with  a  couple  of  songs  also  adding  in  a  brief  use  of  synths  which  also  gives  the  music  more  of  an  atmospheric  feeling  as  well a s  the  solos  and  ;leads  also  being  done  in  a  very  dark,  raw  and  melodic  style  when  they  are  utilized,  clean  plating  can  also  be  heard  briefly.

  On  this  recordingf  Sead  expands  on  the  synths  which  also  gives  his  raw  and  chaotic  style  of  black  metal  more  diversity.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  German  and  cover  dark  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  SEAD  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw,  atmospheric  and  old  school  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  demo.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Mystische  Reise"  "Throne  Of  The  Old  Blood"  and  "Domen".  8  out  of  10.

SEAD/The Return Of The Eastern Chaos/Wolfmond Production/2022 EP Review

 

  SEAD  are  a  duo  from  Germany  that  plays  a  very  raw  and  chaotic  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2022  ep  "The  Return  Of  The  Eastern  Chaos"  which  was  released  by  Wolfmond  Production.

  Drum  beats  and  demonic  growls  start  off  the  ep  before  evolving  into  grim  yet  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  which  also  takes  the  music  into  a  heavier  direction.  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

  Synths  can  also  be  heard  on  a  couple  of  tracks  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  along  with  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  great  amount  of  chaotic  brutality  as  well  as  a  small  amount  of  melody  also  being  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  at  times  and  as  the  ep  progresses  a  brief  use  of  clean  playing  can  also  be  heard.  All  of  the  music  is  improvised  and  the  second  side  of  the  ep  is  the  same  tracks  as  the  first  side  but  done  by  a  different  vocalist..  

  SEAD  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  raw  and  chaotic  sounding.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  German  and  cover  dark  themes.

  In  my  opinion  SEAD  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  and  chaotic  black  metal  duo  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  demo.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Zorn"  and  "Räudiger  Hund ".  8  out  of  10.
