1.Can you tell us a little bit about the band for those that have never heard of you before?
Hi, we are a doppelganger of death, raw athmospheric bm from czech republic. We are just two friends making sick music. I (johnix) making all guitarrs and bass, and luciferiuss making drums.
2.How would you describe your musical sound?
On a demo its a collision between hate forest and walknut. Second record its more like a burzum and drudkh, more deppresive and raw. And new songs are more athmospheric, taking influences also from cascadian black metal
3. What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the music?
Its all about death, depression, nature , darkness etc. But the new songs will be inspired by stories by from edgar allan poe or lovecraft.
4. What is the meaning and inspiration behind the bands name?
I do not know if that makes any sense. I was thinking about interesting name for my band, and doppelganger of death, i never heard it before, i think it sounds great, also with little bit mystery.
5. Currently there are only 2 members in the band, are you planning on expanding the line up in the future or do you choose to remain a duo?
We dont planning expand our line up. We are making all music just in two members, cause we think its a best way. But on a last record, we have a host on all vocals. We plan using just a friends like hosts on vocal or samples.
6. The last recording came out on Coffee Breath Records, can you tell us a little bit more about this label?
Coffee breath is just a internet label, wich taking a demos, live recording or unreleashed records, put it free on their bandcamp, and all money going on non profit benefit actions! So we decided put it online for free.
But firstly we maked cd, all on our hands. No label. Just diy demo!
7. On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of black metal?
I dont know, i dont have so much feedback from worldwide. Only just from some friends from europe. Maybe later we will have some feedbacks from worldwide :D. Now we are really in underground, and i think, not so many people know doppelganger of death.
8. What is going on with the other musical projects these days?
We have another band called Blood in our wells(black/death/stench core), its now in hibernation. But we have recorded new songs for upcoming LP(out 2013). I have another project, playing funeral doom, but its on the begining. Luciferiuss play in Tomorrows hell, is a mettalic crust core
9. What direction do you see your music heading into on future releases?
In June/July 2013 will be out our Cassette Split with MARNOST. 2013 first gig with doppelganger. Winter13/Spring14 recording new songs hope for LP.
10. What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
I think my influences are mostly from eastern europe, bands like Drudkh, hate forest, Walknut, Burzum of course, but only musically(no ideas!!!). But the new songs are also influnced by cascadian bm.bands like fall voices, ash borer... I like the athmosphere in cascadian bm.
And in theese days i listening mostly death metal (entombed, asphyx, Interment, Claws). the new record from Hooden menace is grreat. Also the new record of Ghost b.c is great. From bm its a fall voices, ash borer, wolves in throne room, burzum, drudkh.
11.Outside of music what are some of your interests?
Nature, biking, playing computer games, reading books, comics. Listening vinyls
