- 1.For those that have never heard of you before, can yo tell us a little bit about the band?
- 1. Throne of Belial is our art form from which we relay the gnosis and great message of the divine purpose. We are here to cross over boundaries and the put people in a very uncomfortable and alien place. To separate the listener from the comfort and fetters of their casual, mundane existence and to set them free into the untamed, lawlessness that is the truth of existence; to travel down the dark, untrodden thorny path of liberation. We not only want people to hear the Chaos and Death that we manifest but to also feel, to taste, to smell, and to see the stench of lawless becoming. We are here to open the gates to the calling of the timeless darkness that whispers everyone's name. To explain this short and sweet, We are here to serve in Death's name.
- 2.You recently released an album, can you tell us a little bit more about the musical direction it has taken?
- . "To The Death" is basically the opening and beginning to the Path which we shall ever travel. It was our way to manifest something, which we believe, to have an actual purpose behind it and to create something of real value. We are not trying to do the stereotypical "evil" or "grim" "black metal" image that usually carries the attitude of trying to prove something to someone. Fuck That. We wanted to take this music back from where it originated to and keep the old school raw sound and to keep the flames alight. To put the fiery passion that we feel towards certain ideals and beliefs. We very much went towards the musical direction that was calling us.
- 3.Your lyrics cover a lot of Luciferian, Satanic and Occult themes, can you tell us a little bit more about views in these areas?
- 3. As i wont explain in depth the lyrical content due to how personal and sacred it is to me i can however explain the general philosophy behind it. Throne of Belial is about Chaosophia and Necrosophia, which is the wisdom or gnosis gained through Chaos and Death. These two forms of magical practice, if taken seriously bring forth the revelations, manifestations and the awakening of the Luciferian self defined Will. Through the Black Light of divination and the lawless becoming brought into this world by Satan, we are able to gain inspiration and insight for our lyrical concept. Our lyrics more so traverse the path we do and is a written down manifestation and expression of our own lawless becoming. Prayers, incantations, invocations, evocations; a beckoning call to the Other Side.
- 4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Throne Of Belial'?
- 4. Belial is the Qliphotic daemon of the 6th palace of the Qliphot and is the ruler of the Black Earth and the chthonic world of the Dead. He is lawless and free from the fetters of the enslaver of existence/ material and can also represent one who has no master or one who cannot be controlled. This holds great significance to us because how we wish stay free and liberated and definitely separate from the casual restrictions of finite existence. We wish to manifest our cause to be the throne or temple of Belial and to channel his endless might.
- 5.Out of all the shows that the band has played around Colorado over the last 2 years, which one did you enjoy the most?
- 5. I have 3 so far that had the most impact. Last years Samhain show at the Marquis Theater, Back in June at the 7th Circle with Weapönizer/ Mount Cairn, and on Halloween of this year for our cd release. I felt like these rituals had the most impact on myself because of the fiery energy and just the amount of, i dont know how to explain it, but magic that was manifested in such away. As if i felt like i was possessed and enshrouded in a darkness that cannot be seen. I felt these show were very much "completed" and all that what was meant to happened, happened, which is the goal of a ritual.
- 6.Are there any plans in the future to tour or do shows out of Colorado?
- 6.For right now we are staying kind of silent in our temple, but we will be playing the Infernal Rites Festival in April with some amazing bands. We will however be preforming a few rituals during the later winter months but that info will be release within time.
- 7.Currently you are unsigned, are you looking for a label or have received any interest?
- 7. It is something that we don't really focus on because how much time musically and spiritually we invest in the band but if the circumstance was ever out there and it appealed to what we thought was reasonable i dont see why we wouldnt. It just all depends on who was asking to sign us, as we want full control of what we are doing and we are not going to have some label tell us what we are doing with our creation. So at the time being, as far as my knowledge goes, no label is looking to sign Throne of Belial at the moment.
- 8.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of black metal?
- 8. From what we have heard from those who have listened to the cd is good, no complaints besides it being a little short. Im glad to hear that people enjoy the release but if no one liked it it wouldnt matter to us, because what matters is what we think about it and we will forever stay on our path of solitude and do what we want play how we want to play. On a world wide spectrum we are pretty much non existent due to how many fucking bands there are and how we dont spend our time on gaining popularity and spend most of it on the music and etc. But as time goes on im sure those who are meant to hear our craft will and will eventually reach the ears of those around the 7 oceans, and hopefully they enjoy or are horrified with what they hear.
- 9.Are there any other current side projects going on these days?
- 9.Gavin and I are currently jamming with our friend Mark in Achral Necrosis, which is a fast malevolent black metal band. Devin isnt in any side projects at the moment and our bassist Tony plays drums in his slutgrind band called Whore Grinder. But of course Gavin, Devin and I's main priority is Throne of Belial.
- 10.What direction do you see your music heading into on future releases?
- 10. Where ever the cold winds of Death may take us and what ever fiery black passions grow within our hearts. All i can say is on to new darker horizons that is for certain.
- 11.What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
- 11. We all have a very diverse musical taste. From Rock n Roll to Black Metal, Thrash, Death Metal, Psychedelic/ Occult Rock, Classical, Punk anything that really has passion and emotion. Here is a list of some bands that we listen to and who have had an influence to our music: Mortuary Drape, Venom, Bathory, Taake, Selim Lemouchi/The Devil's Blood, Weapönizer, Carpathian Forest, Dissection, Nifelheim, Urgehal, Watain, Nattefrost, Satyricon, Shining, Ondskapt, Windir, Necrophobic, Tribulation, Night Bringer, GG Allin, Beastcraft, Malign etc etc. Long list
- 12.Outside of music what are some of your interests?
- 12. We are pretty quite guys who like to stay out of the false reality which people obsess over and stay in the forest and untamed wild. We like to go hike, camp, shoot guns explore the forests and our endurance. I my self like to be in the mountains as much as i can for the spiritual significance you can gain from it and also to just stay out of the annoying monotonous city. Its just much better to spend time in the natural and true side of living and existence.
- 13. We want to thank those who have supported us on this beginning journey to darkness and no return, and we really appreciate the respect and support from all of those who listened to or who have seen us preform. Shall those of the awakened fiery serpent blood reap the bountiful harvest from the tree of knowledge and those of the profane reap the bitter, rotted fruits from the tree of lies. Shall the Black Light of Freedom guide those down the thorny path of divination and freedom.Benedictions, Alex

Throne Of Belial/To The Death/2013 CD Review
Throne Of Belial are a band from Colorado that plays a very raw and old school form of Luciferian/Occult black metal and this is a review of their self released 2013 album "To The Death".
"To The Death" which is the first song as well as the title track for the album opens up with atmospheric sounds and guitar effects and the song is an instrumental intro for the rest of the album.
"The Blackened Silence" begins with dark black metal guitar riffs along with some drums before adding in grim screams and then the music goes into a more fast direction along with some blast beats and mixing in both mid paced and fast sections.
"Blood And Goatsemen" kicks in with old school black meal guitar riffs and drums before adding in the grim screams and you can hear the bass guitars and then the song starts alternating between fast and mid paced parts.
"Goatlust" opens up with slow and dark sounding black metal riffs before adding in drums and going into a more fast and raw direction along with some grim vocals and then the song starts utilizing a mixture of fast and mid paced sections as well as adding in blast beats in certain parts of the song and towards the end the guitar riffing starts utilizing a small amount of melody.
"Anti-Christ" starts up with some slow Swedish style black metal guitar riffs and drums along with some vocals a few seconds later and after a minute the music goes into a faster direction along with some blast beats which then leads to the music alternating between mid paced and fast parts and towards the end the music adds in a small amount of clean playing for a few seconds as well as going into a slower direction.
"Osculum Inflame" hits it off with raw old school black metal guitar riffing and screams before adding in blast beats from the drums and going into a faster direction and you can also hear some bass guitars in the background and after a minute the music starts adding in mid paced sections and then the music starts alternating between fast and mid paced parts as well as adding slower riffing in certain sections of the song along with a brief use of spoken word ritualistic passages and towards the end there is a brief bass guitar lead along with a small amount of clean guitars.
"Sorcery Of the Black Sun" makes its way in with old school black metal guitar riffs before adding in drums and grim screams and a few seconds later the music speeds up along with some blast beats for awhile and then music alternates between mid paced and fast parts as well as adding demonic vocals in certain sections of the song.
"Under the Horns Of Baphomet" is introduced with dark sounding black metal guitar riffs and drums and the guitar riffing also utilizes some melody which also leads up to the grim black metal screams and a minute later the music goes into a faster direction along with blast beats and towards the end the music returns back to a slower direction and adds in more ritualistic elements.
"Hymn Of The Dark Forest" is brought in with slow and dark sounding black metal guitar riffs and drums and a few seconds later the music goes more into a mid paced direction and towards the end the music goes into a cleaner direction and then back to heavy along with a few seconds of black metal screams but the song for the most part is instrumental.
"Serpent Of Wisdom" has its beginnings with dark and old school sounding black metal guitar riffs and drums a few seconds later which also lead to some grim vocals and then the music speeds up and adds in blast beats and then bringing in a mixture of mid paced and fast parts and you can hear the guitars utilizing some in certain sections of the song.
"XI" which is also the last song on the album begins with heavy and melodic black metal guitar riffs along with some drums and a small amount of guitar leads before speeding up and adding in high pitched screams and blast beats and you can also hear the bass guitars in the background and then music starts alternating between mid paced and fast parts as well as adding in slow sections along with more melodic guitar leads.
Lyrics cover Satanism, Luciferian, Black Magick and Anti Christian themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and dark sound for being a self released recording.
In my opinion Throne Of Belial are a very great sounding Luciferian/Occult black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Blackened Silence" "Anti-Christ" "Sorcery Of the Black Sun" and "Serpent Of Wisdom". RECOMMENDED BUY.
