1.Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days?
- Hello. We recently returned from a russian mini-tour. Now we are on vacation, after which we will start recording a new album.
2.Your last album was released in 2019, musically how does it differ from the stuff you have released in the past?
- Each of our albums is different from the others. I do a lot of experiments with the genre that bring a lot of interesting things to the music. Now we are rehearsing songs for the upcoming album, in which the influence of post-punk and post-rock is noticeable. We develop as authors and our creativity grows with us. The first album was a reflection of what I liked at the time of its creation. The second was a ready-made work that we did ourselves.
3.You also released 2 different versions of the album, one with vocals one without can you tell us a little bit more about this decision?
- I like instrumental black metal. This was the reason for this decision. My second project NMLSS_VGR was a continuation of this fascination. There I create completely silent music.
4.In addition to black metal you have also released some ambient recordings, how would you compare the 2 different genres?
- In the early 90s, black metal artists made extensive use of ambient in their creations. I love albums from that period. You put on a record and you find yourself in another world. It's a great mix of genres. Just listen to the album Burzum - Hvis Lyset Tar Oss, and you will see what I mean.
5.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band has explored with the newer music and also how would you describe your progress as songwriters over the years?
- Our lyrics have changed over time from teenage Satanism to scientific theories. At the age of 20, I believed that if the songs were evil and directed against Christians, that was enough. Now I am 30 and I know that the best weapon against religion is knowledge. I am an atheist and materialist. Humanity will not fly into space with a load of religion around its neck. Education and critical thinking is the best path to the future.
6.You also had at least 2 different name changes, what was the cause of the bane changes and also the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Khaos Labyrinth'?
- In fact, this is the first name. I created this group on the shards of the previous one and just took my material from there.
7.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the new album cover?
- For the cover, I used NASA photos of Pluto's surface and reworked them a lot. You can see the result on the art of the album.
8.What are some of the best shows that the band has played over the years and also how would you describe your stage performance?
- Best show was in 2016 with Abbat in Moscow and our concert this year in St. Petersburg.The show usually looks - we go out and play.
9.Currently you are unsigned you have released an album on a label in the past, are you open to working with another label again in the future?
- We are absolutely open to suggestions for the release of our next album. Working with the label on the first album disappointed me greatly, so we released the second ourselves. Our first label still owes us money and only sent us a financial statement once. So fuck Russian major labels.
10.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to been to your music by fans of black metal?
- On a global level, black metal fans are not aware of our existence, I supposed. But I would be interested to know their reaction.
11.When can we expect newer music and also where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?
- The new album will be released in 2021. After which the group will most likely cease to exist.
12.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
- The influence of black metal in the 90s is above all. But I also often use music that has nothing to do with not only black metal, but in general with extreme music. Post Rock, Post Punk, Depressive Rock... Doom Metal i think.
