Urfeind/Dauþalaikaz/Nine To Zero/2025 Full Length Review

 

  Germany's  Urfeind  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  an  anti  cosmic  form  of  pagan  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  album  "Nine  To  Zero"  which  will  be  released  in  2025  by  Nine  To  Zero.

  A  very  fast  and  raw  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  bring  in  a  very  deep  yet  angry  black  metal  approach  mixed  in  with  a  few  high  pitched  screams  while  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  melody  and  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  a  couple  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on   the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  the  whole  album  also  sticks  to  a  very  heavy  and  brutal  direction.

  On  this  recording  Urfeind  goes  for  a  very  fast,  raw  and  melodic  form  of  anti  cosmic  pagan  black  metal.  The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  Thurisian  Sorcery,  Dark  Germanic  Heathenism,  Anti  Cosmic  Philosophy  and  Misanthropy  themes.

 In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  Urfeind  and  if  you  a  fan  of  raw  and  brutal  anti  cosmic  pagan  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Thorns  Of  Madness"  "Weaving  The  Abyss"  "Nine  To  Zero"  and  "Inner  Rampage".  8  out  of  10.

Urfeind/Wraiþaz/2021 EP Review

 

  Urfeind  are  a  band  from  Germany  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  an  anti  cosmic  form  of  heathen  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  ep  "Wraiþaz"  which  will  be  released  in  2021.

  Melodic  guitar  solos  and  leads  start  off  the  ep  while the  vocals  are  done  in  mostly  a  deep  yet  grim  black  metal  style.  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  melody  along  with  the  faster  sections  of the  songs  also  adding  in  some  blast  beats  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful sound  to  them.

  High  pitched  screams  can  also  be  heard  in  some  parts  of  the  recording  while  the  tremolo  picking  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  Throughout  the  ep  you  can  also  hear  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  all  of  the  music  sticking  to  a  heavier  direction.

  On  this  recording  Urfeind  goes  into  more  of  a  melodic  black  metal  direction.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics cover  Anti  Cosmic   Left  Hand  Path  and  Dark  Germanic  Heathenism  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Urfeind  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  melodic,  anti  cosmic  and  heathen  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Nine  To  Zero"  and  "inner  Rampage".  8  out  of  10.

Urfeind/Þurisabloþa/Vamamarga Conjurations/2020 CD Review

   Urfeind  are  a  band  from  Germany  that  plays  an  anti  cosmic  form  of  heathen  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2020  album  "Þurisabloþa"  which  will  be  released  towards  the  end  of  February  by  Vamamarga  Conjurations.

  Militant  beats  start  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  heavier  musical  direction  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  and  tremolo  picking  can  be  heard  which  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  done  in  a  very  dark  and  melodic  style  along  with  the  vocals  being  mostly  grim   sounding  black  metal  screams.  The  riffs  also  add  in  a  decent  amount  of  melody  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.

  Ritualistic  spoken  word  parts  can  also  be  heard  at  times  as  well  as  the  vocals  also  adding  in  a  grim  yet  somewhat  melodic  approach  on  a  couple  of  tracks,  a  couple  of  the  songs  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  and  all  of  the  music  also  sticks  to  a  heavier  direction.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the lyrics  cover  Dark  Germanic  Heathenism  that  is  mostly in  the  Thurisan  Tradition  of  Abgrundjaskalkaz,  Anti  Cosmic  Left  Hand  Path  themes  and  one  song  covers  Perun  from  Slavic  Paganism.

  In  my  opinion  Urfiend  are  a  very  great sounding  anti  cosmic  heathen  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Golda  Dolgr"  "Forged  By  Fire"  and  "The  Nothing".  8  out  of  10.
