Pimeydentuoja/Hellcrowned/Symbol Of Domination Productions/More Hate Productions/Black Plague Records/2017 CD Review

  Pimeydentuoja   are  a  band  from  Finland  that h as  been  featured  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  a  bestial  mixture  of  war,  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2017  album  "Hellcrowned'  which  was  released  as  a  joint  effort  between  Symbol  Of  Domination,  More  Hate  Productions  and  Black  Plague  Records.

  Horror  movie  style  synths  start  off  the  album  along  with  some  demonic  yet  ritualistic  voices  in  the  background  and  after  the  intro  the  music  goes  into  a  very  fast  and  raw  war metal  direction  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  along  with  a  small  amount  of  morbid  sounding  melodies.

  Vocals  are  mostly  bestial  death  metal  growls  along  with  a  few  black  metal screams  and  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid paced  and  fast  parts  and  the  music  also  has  a  great  amount  of  90's  influences  while  still  having  a  modern  touch  and  you  can  also  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  this  recording  and  samples  are  also  used  briefly  and  as  the  album  progresses  a  small  amount  of  melodic  guitar  leads  can  be  heard. 

  Pimeydentuoja   creates  another  recording  that  remains  true  to  the  bestial  black/death  metal  style  of  their  previous  release,  the  production  sounds  very  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  blasphemy,  demons,  satanic  rites  and  anti  Christianity  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  album  from  Pimeydentuoja  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  bestial  black/death  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Hellcrowned"  "Invocations  Of  Wrath  And  Fire"  and "Altar  Of  The  Vilde  God".  8  out  of  10.

Pimeydentuoja/The Devil's Epoch/Misanthropic Arts Productions/2016 CD Review

  Pimeydentuoja  are  a  band  from  Finland  that  plays  a  bestial  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2016  album "The  Devil's  Epoch"  which  was  released  by  Misanthropic  Arts  Productions.

  A  very  heavy  and  aggressive  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  some  bestial  growls  a  few  seconds  later  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard  and  you  can  also  hear  a  lot  of  war  metal  elements  in  the  bands  musical  style  while t he  riffs  also  use  a  great  amount  of  morbid  sounding  melodies.

  High  pitched  black  metal s creams  can  be  heard  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  when  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  done  in  a  very  chaotic  war  metal  fashion  while  also  having  their melodic  moments  and  throughout  the  recording  you  can  hear  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.

   Some  of  the  tracks  also  bring  in  samples  from  horror  movies  along  with  a  brief  use  of  synths  and  one  track  also  brings  in  a  small  amount  of  ritualistic  spoken  word  parts  and  the  fast  riffs  also use  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  which  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  black  metal  feeling  and  they  close  the  album  with  a  cover  of  Impaled  Nazarene's  "I Al  Purg  Vonpo/Mt  Blessing (The  Beginning  Of  the  End)".

  Pimeydentuoja  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  a  very  raw  and  bestial  style  of  black/war  metal  and  mixes  it  with  death  metal  to  create  some  very  heavy  yet  dark  music,  the  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  yet  heavy  at  the  same  time  while  the  lyrics  cover  blasphemy,  demons,  Satanic  Rites  and  Anti  Christianity  themes.

  In  my  opinion Pimeydentuoja  are  a  very  great  sounding  bestial  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "By  Death  We  Shall  Conquer"  "The  Devil's  Epoch"  "Awakening  Of  the  Ancient  King"  and  "Morbid  Sacrifice".  8  out  of  10.
