Synths start off the album and also bring in elements of dungeon and keller synth which also mixes in with the heavier sections of the music at times. All of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them while the vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams and the riffs also add in a decent amount of melody.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style while melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing. Spoken words and clear singing can also be heard on a couple of tracks along with the album also capturing a very medieval atmosphere at times and the whole recording also sticks to a slower direction.
Taufpatin plays a musical style that takes a very slow and epic form of black metal and mixes it with dungeon synth to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in French and is a concept album that covers a witch from 18th century France named La Taufpatin.
In my opinion Taufpatin are a very great sounding epic mixture of black metal and dungeon synth and if you are of fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "L'Affront" "Operation Vengeance" and "Je reste la plus belle". 8 out of 10.
