Nighnacht/Limb Service/Morbid And Miserable Records/Pagan Fury Records/2026 Full length Review

 

  Arizona/Ohio's  Nighnacht  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  a  mixture  of  black,  death,  thrash  metal  and  punk  and  this  is  a  revie w of  their  album  "Limb  Service"  which  will  be  released  in  2026  as  a  joint  effort  between  Morbid  And  Miserable  and  Pagan  Fury  Records.

  A  very  fast  and  raw  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  a  mixture  of  black  metal  screams  and  crust  style  shorting,  Elements  of  thrash  and  death  metal  are  also  utilized  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording  and  melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing. 

  Throughout  the  album  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  the  solos  and  leads  also bring  in  more  of  an  old  school  death  metal  style.  A  lot  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  short  in  length  along  with  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them,  the  whole  album  also  sticks  to  a  heavier  direction.

  On  this  recording  Nightnacht  remains  true  to  the  mixture  of  black,  death,  thrash  metal  and  punk  that  they  introduced  on  previous  releases.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  Horror,  Occultism,  Death,  Gore  and  Torture  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Nighnacht  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  black, death,  thrash  metal  and  punk,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Witches  Brew"  "Spirits"  "TRroll  Bridge"  and  "Lovers  VOmit".  8  out  of  10.

Nighnacht/Asking To Be Killed/Morbid And Miserable Records/2022 EP Review

 

  Nighnacht  are  a  band  from  Arizona  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  on  this  recording  plays  a  mixture  of  black,  death,  thrash  metal  and  punk  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2022  ep  "Asking  to  Be  Killed"  which  will b e  released  in  December  by  Morbid  And  Miserable  Records.

  Drum b eats  start  off  the  ep  along  with  some  heavier  riffing  a  few  seconds  later  while  the  vocals  are  a  mixture  of  black  metal  screams  and  death  metal  growls.  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard  along  with  the  riffing  also  adding  in  a  lot  of  thrash  metal  elements.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  a  great  portion  of  the  tracks  are  very  short  in  length.  Touches  of  punk  rock  can  also  be  heard  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording  along  with  the  solos  and  leads  also  being  done  in  a  very  dark  yet  melodic  style  when t hey  are  utilized  and  when  tremolo  picking  is  added  into  the  faster  riffing  they  also  give  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling  as  well  as  the  riffs  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  melody  at  times.

  On  this  recording  Nightnacht  takes  the  old  school  styles  of  black,  death,  thrash  metal  and  punk  and  mixes  them  together  with  a  more  modern  sound  to  create  a  very  heavy  recording.  The  production  sounds  very  professional while  the  lyric's  cover  darkness  and  violence  themes.  

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Nighnacht  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  black,  death,  thrash  metal  and  punk,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Asking  To  be  Killed"  and  "In  The  Woods  At  Halloween".  8  out  of  10.

Nighnacht/ChristophiliaHells Headbangers/2019 EP Review

  Nighnacht  are  a  band  from  Cleveland,  Ohio  that  plays  a  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  with  some  elements  of  punk  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2019  ep  "Christophilia"  which  will  be  released  in  April  by  Hells  Headbangers.

  Grim  black  metal  screams  start  off  the  ep  along  with  some  heavy  riffing  which  also  introduces  elements  of  punk  rock  onto  the  recording.  Most  of  the  music  is  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  80's  but  also  maintaining  a  modern  atmosphere  as  well  as  some  death  metal  growls  also  being  added  into  some  parts  of  the  music.

  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can  also  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  Elements  of  thrash  can  also  be  heard  in  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  some  of  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  small  amount  of  dark  sounding  melodies.

  Nighnacht  plays  a  musical  style  that  goes  back  to  the  80's  and  early  90's  era  of  black  and  death  metal  while  also  adding  in  some  punk  and  thrash  influences  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own.  The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  old  school  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Anti  Christianity  and  Horror  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Nignacht  are  a  very  great  sounding  old  school  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  with  some  elements  of  punk  and  thrash  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Christophillia"  and  "Agony".  8  out  of  10.
