Edenkaiser/Armageddon Overlord/WP And RO Productions/2024 Full Length Review

 

  Spain's  Edenkaiser  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  an  old  school  mixture  of  black  and  thrash  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2024  album  "Armageddon  Overlord"  which  was  released  by  WP  And  RO  Productions.

  A  very  fast  and  raw  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  Elements  of  thrash  metal  are  also  added  into  a  lot  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  the  songs  also  mix  in  a  lot  of  old  school  influences.  Melodies  are  also  added  into  a  lot  of  the  guitar  riffing  along  with  a  couple  of  tracks  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  clean  playing  and  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  as  well  as  one  song  also  adding  in  a  brief  use  of  Gregorian  chants  and  they  also  bring  in  an  instrumental.

  On  this  recording  EDenkaiser  expands  on  their  old  school  mixture  of  black  and  thrash  metal.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  War,  Mythology,  Occultism  and  Nihilism  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Edenkaiser  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  old  school  black  and  thrash  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The  Slaughter  Empire"  "Symphony  Of  Agony"  and  "Hi-Tech  Warlord".  8  out  of  10.

Edenkaiser/Fleshdozer Dimension/2021 CD Review

 

  Spain's  Edenkaiser  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  more  of  an  old  school  mixture  of  black  and  thrash  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of t heir  self  released  2021  album  "Fleshdozer  Dimension".

  A  very  anaglyptic  sounding  intro  starts  off  the  album  before  going  into  more  of  a  heavier  and  melodic  musical  direction.  Vocals  are  mostly  angry  sounding  black  metal  screams  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  and  the  music  is  also  heavily  rooted  in  the  90's  era.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  the  apocalyptic  sounds  can  be  heard  in  between  each  track.  Elements  of  thrash  metal  can  also  be  heard  in  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  along  with  a  couple  of  songs  also  adding  in  a  brief  use  of  clean  playing  and  spoken  word  parts  as  well  as  all  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them,  one  of  the  tracks  also  adds  in  a  brief  use  of  synths  before  returning  back  to  a  heavier  direction.

  On  this  recording  Edenkaiser  goes  for  more  of  an  old  school  style  of  black  metal  and  mixes  it  with  elements  of  thrash  metal  to  create  a  very  aggressive  sounding  recording.  The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  old  school  while  the  lyrics  cover  Chaos,  Armageddon,  Apocalypse,  Nihilism  and  War  themes.     

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Edenkaiser  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  old  school  black  metal  with  elements  of  thrash  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The  Eye  Of  The  Blind"  "Nemesis  In  Flames"  and  "Dawn  Of  The  Forgotten".  8  out  of  10.

Edenkaiser/Ov Future Wars & Echoes From The Past/2017 CD Review

  Spain's  Edenkaiser  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  continues  their  raw  and  old  school  style  of  black  metal  from  previous  releases  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2017  album  "Ov  Future  Wars  And  Echoes  From  The  Past".

  War  samples  along  with  some  heavy  riffing  starts  off  the  album  along  with  some  drum  beats  a  few  seconds  later  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and  raw  musical  direction  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  tremolo picking  and  blast  beats  along  with  the  vocals  being  mostly  grim  yet  high  pitched  black  metal  screams.

  A  small  amount  of  melody  can  also  be  heard  in  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  evil  sounding  spoken  word  parts  can  also  be  heard  briefly  along  with  the  songs  also  bringing  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  when  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  done  in  a  very  raw  yet  melodic  fashion and  the  music  is  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  90's  second  wave  era  as  well  as  war  samples  also  returning  on  some  of  the  later  tracks  and  synths  can  also  be  heard  briefly  on  a  later  song.

  Edenkaiser  creates  another  recording  that  remains  true  to  their  raw  and  old  school  style  of  black  metal,  the  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  war  and  nihilism  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  album  from  Edenkaiser  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  and  old  school  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Dead  Gods  Desire"  "Killing  Dark  Speed" "Soul  Of  The  unborn"  and  "Riding  Towards  Acheron".  8  out  of  10.

Edenkaiser/Dominum Ex Mortis/Black Steel Music/2015 Full length Review

  Edenkaiser  are  a  band  from  Spain  that  has  been  featured  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  a  raw  and  old  school  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2015  album  "Dominum  Ex  Mortis"  which  was  released  by  Black  Steel  Music.

  A  very  dark  sounding  intro  with  nature  sounds  starts  off  the  album  along  with  some  clean  guitars  a  few  seconds  later  as  well  as  some  melodic  guitar  leads  which  are  also  used  on  a  regular  basis  throughout  the  recording  and  after  the  intro  the  music  goes  into  more  of  a  raw  black  metal  direction  that  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats.

  Vocals  use  a  great  mixture  of  high  pitched  screams  and  demonic  growls  and  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  the  sounds  that  where  on  the  intro  also  make  a  return  in  certain  sections  of  the  recording  while  one  of  the  later  tracks  also  brings  in  a  few  seconds  of  battle  samples  and  the  music  also  brings  in  more  of  an  old  school  and  traditional style  of  black  metal  onto  the  songs  and  some  of  the  later  tracks  bring  in  a  brief  use  of  melodic  Gregorian  chants  briefly  while  the  heavier  parts  bring  in  an  influence  of  thrash,  back  up  gang  shouts  and  riffs  that  also  utilize  a  small  amount  of  melody.

  Edenkaiser  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  raw  and  old  school  sounding  while  also  adding  in  a  touch  of  death  and  thrash  metal,  the  production  sound s very  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Occult,  Conspiracy, War  and  Nihilism  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Edenkaiser  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  and  old  school  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Black  Steel  Legions"  "The Witch  And  The  Beast"  and  "Oblivion  Remains".  8  out  of  10.

Edenkaiser/Doomsday Juggernaut/2014 EP Review

  Edenkaiser  are  a  band  from  Spain  that  plays  a  thrashened  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2014  ep  "Doomsday  Juggernaut".

  The  ep  starts  out  with  the  sounds  of  wind  and  nature  along  with  some  acoustic  guitars  along  with  a  brief  solo  and  after  the  intro  the  music  goes  int  a  more  fast,  and  raw  old  school  black  metal  direction  along  with  blast  beats  and  high  pitched  screams  and  a  minute  later  thrash  metal  elements  are  brought  into  the  music  along  with  some  deep  demonic  growls  and  after  awhile  melody  is  added  into  the  music.

  As  the  ep  continues  the  music  sticks  to  a  more  raw  and  old  school  form  of  black  metal  mixed  in  with  thrash  and  a  small  amount  of  death  metal  as  well  as  bringing  in  a  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  at  times the  bass  guitars  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  acoustic  guitars  also  make  their  return  in  certain  sections  of  the  recording  and  you  can  hear  some  demonic  vocals  being  utilized  on  one  of  the  tracks  and  on  the  last  song  ritualistic  sound  effects  are  brought  into  the  music  briefly  before  returning  to  a  heavier  direction.  

  With  this  ep  Edenkaiser  stick  to  the  old  school  raw  and  primitive  black  metal  sound  of  the  early  90's  while  also  having  a  good  amount  of  thrash  elements  and  the  band  ignores  all  of  the  modern  trends  and  creates  some  dark  and  evil  sounding  metal.

  Song  lyrics  cover  darkness  and  occultism  themes,  while  the  production  has  a  very  dark,  raw,  heavy  and  old  school  sound  where  you  can  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  this  recording.

  In  my  opinion  Edenkaiser  are  a  very  great  sounding  thrashened  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Enter Mephisto"  and  "A  Jewell  in  The  Skull".  8  out  of  10.
