  Nachtheem  are  a  band  from  Netherlands  that  plays  a  very  atmospheric  form  of  black  metal  ad  this  is  a  review  of  their  2025  album  "Nacht,  zijmet  ons..."  which  will  be  released  in  April  by  Van  Records.

  A  very  fast  and  raw  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  while  most  of  the  tracks  are  also  very long  and  epic  in  length  and  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  decent  amount  of  melody.

  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  the  synths  also  give  the  music  more  of  an  atmospheric  feeling  when  they  are  utilized.  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  the  songs  also  adding  in  influences  from  both  the  old  school  and  modern  era's  of  the  genre,  clear  vocals  are  also  added  on  a  couple  of  tracks  and  one  song  is  also  an  instrumental,  spoken  words  are  also  added  towards  the  end.

  Nachtheem  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  raw  and  atmospheric  sounding.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Dutch  and  cover  nostalgia  themes.  

  In  my  opinion  Nachtheem  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  and  atmospheric  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Drift  van  nostalgie"  and  "Daar  aan  het  firmamant".  8  out  of  10.

Enevelde/Pandemonium/Van Records/2025 Full Length Review

 

  Norway's  solo  project  Enevelde  has  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  a  very  modern,  aggressive  and  epic  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2025  album  "Pandemonium"  which  will  be  released  in  April  by  Van  Records.

  A  very  dark  and  apocalyptic  sound  starts  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  angry  sounding  black  metal  screams.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  along  with  the  riffs  also  adding  in  a  decent  amount  of  melodies  and  the  guitar  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style.

  Most  of  the  music  is  also  very  heavily  rooted  in  in  the  modern  era  mixed  in with  the  aggression  of  the  old  school  style  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  add  in  a  decent  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  which  also  gives  the  recording  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  Throughout  the  album  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  the closing  track  is  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

  

  On  this  recording  Enevelde  goes  for  a  more  modern,  aggressive  and  epic  form  of  black  metal.  The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  a  mixture  of  Norwegian  and  English  and  cover  Hell  and  the  Destruction  Of  Man.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  album  from  Enevelde  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  modern,  aggressive  and  epic  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Nigromantia"  and  "Rasende  Flammer".  8  out  of  10.

  Robust  are  a  band  from  Norway  that  plays  an  intoxicating  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  titled  2025  album  which  will  be  released  in  April  by  Van  Records.

  A  very  dark  yet  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  album  while  you  can  also  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  the  recording.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  which  also  have  their  grim  moments  along  with  the  riffs  also  adding  in  a  decent  amount  of  melody  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  lot  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard.

  When  tremolo  picking  is  added  into  the  fast  riffing  they  also  give  the  album  more  of  a  raw  feeling  while  one  track  also  adds  in  a  brief  use  of  folk  instruments.  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  some  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length

   

  Clean  playing  is  also  utilized  on  a  few  songs  along  with  a  lot  of  the  music  is  also  being  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  mid  2000's  era  and  one  track  also  adds  in  a  brief  use  of  spoken  words,  when  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  finally  added  into  the  music  they  bring  in  more  of  an  old  school  style.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  darkness  themes.

  Germany's  Panzerkrieg  666  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  a  very  fast  and  raw  mixture  of   black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2025  ep  "Day  Of  Genocide"  which  will  be  released  in  April.

  Drum b eats  start  off  the  ep  along  with  some  heavy  riffing  a  few  seconds  later   while  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  add  in  a  lot  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  which  also  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling  along  with  the  vocals  being  mostyl  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  mixed  in  with  a  few  death  metal  growls.

  Most  of  the  music  is  also  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  mid  90's  era  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  A  small  amount  of  melody  can  also  be  heard  in  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  along  with  one  track  also  adding  in  a  brief  use  of  spoken  word  samples  and  all  of  the  music  sticks  to  a  heavier  direction.

  On  this  recording  Panzerkrieg  66  plays  a  very  fast  and  raw  form  of  black  metal  as  well  as  adding  in  elements  of  death  metal  to  enhance  the  aggression  of  the  music.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  war,  death  and  genocide  themes.

   Fryktelig  Støy  are  a  solo  project  from  Australia  that  has  been  featured  before  in  this  zine  and  on  this  recording  plays  an  experimental  mixture  of  black,  doom  metal  and  post  rock  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2025  album  "Incandescent'  which  will  be  released  in  April  by  I,  Voidhanger  Records.

  High  pitched  black  emtal  screams  start  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and  raw  musical  direction  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  all  of  the  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  while  the  music  also  has  its  experimental  moments.  Elements  of  doom  metal  are  also  added  into  the  slower  sections  of  the  songs  along  with  some  whispered  vocals  also  being  utilized  at  times  and  throughout  the  album  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.

  Clear  singing  can  also  be  heard  on  a  few  songs  along  with  some  tracks  are  also  adding  in  touches  of  post  rock  as  well  as  some  clean  playing  also  being  added  into  certain  sections  of  the  album.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  Darkness,  Flight,  Witchcraft,  Satanism,  Magick,  Transmutation  and  Existentialism  themes.

  Germany's  Eisenkult  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  a  raw,  melodic  and  old  school  form  of  black  metal  with  a  touch  of  folk  music  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2025  album  "Die Hölle  ist  hier"  which  will  be  released  in  April  by  Purity  Through  Fire.

  Folk  instruments  start  off  the  album  along  with  some  whispered  vocals  and  clear  singing  a  few  seconds  later  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction.  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling  and  the  harsh  vocals  are  mostly  grim  black  metal  screams.

  Synths  also  mix  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  songs  while  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  melody.  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  the  music  also  being  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  old  school  eta  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

  Some  of  the  riffing  also  shows  an  influence  of  thrash  metal  along  with with  some  death  metal  growls  also  being  utilized  at  times  as  well  as  some  of  the  synths  also  capturing  a  very  medieval  orientated  atmosphere.   Clean  playing  can  also  be  heard  on  a  couple  of  tracks  and    a  couple  of  songs  also  adds  in  a  small  amount  of  spoken  words  and  Gregorian  chants  are  also  added  towards  the  end.  The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  German  and  cover  blasphemy,  darkness  and  death  themes.

  Ashenheart  are  an  international  band  with  embers  from  the  United  States  and  the  United  Kingdom  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  on  this  recording  goes  for  an  atmospheric  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2025  ep  "Tales  From  Eternal  Dusk"  which  will  be  released  in  April  by  Fiadh  Priductions.

  Clean  playing  and  atmospheric  sounding  keyboards  start  off  the  ep  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction.  Vocals  are  a  mixture  of  black  metal  screams  and  death  metal  growls  while  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  decent  amount  of  melody  along  with  the  music  also  having  its  symphonic  moments  and  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style.

  A  couple  of  the  tracks  are  also  long  and  epic  in  length  while  one  song  also  adds  in  a  brief  use  of  acoustic  guitars.  The  songs  also  add  in  a  good  mixture  of  both  modern  and  old  school  influences  and  most  of  the  music  also  sticks  to  a  mid  tempo  section.

  On  this  recording  Ashenheart  expands  on  their  atmospheric  style  of  black  metal  by  adding  in  more  death  metal  and  symphonic  touches  to  create  something  different  from  their  previous  release.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  fantasy  themes.

  Austria's  Karg  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  an  atmospheric  form  of  post  black  metal with  elements  from  other  musical  genres  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2025  album  "Marodeur"  which  will  be  released  in  April  by  AOP  Records.

  A  very  atmospheric  shoegazre  orientated  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  some  clean  playing  and  synths  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction  which  also  adds  in  a  touch  of  grunge  rock.  Vocals  are  mostly  angry  sounding  black  metal  screams  and  most  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

  Some  of  the  more  melancholic  sides  of  the  music  are  heavily  rooted  in  post-punk  while  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  melody.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  post  metal  style  along  with  some  angry  shouts  also  being  utilized  at  times.

  When  the  music speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  as  well  as  some  clear  vocals  also  being  added  into  certain  sections  of  the  album,  some  of  the  tracks  also  add  in  movie  samples,  violins  and  pianos.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  German  and  cover  the  melancholic  side  of  life.

    Italy's  Heruka  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  a  very  modern  and  aggressive  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a review  of  their  2025  ep  "Panacea'  which  will  be  released  on  March  21st  by  Rude  Awakening  Records.

   A  very  fast,  raw  and  melodic  sound  starts  off  the  ep  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  a  mixture  of  black  metal  screams  mixed  in  with  a  few  growls  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  spoken  words  can  also  be  heard  on  a  few  tracks.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  clear  singing  can  also  be  heard  at  times.  Symphonic  overtones  are  also  added  into  the  background  briefly  and  the  songs  also  mix  the  more  traditional  side  of  the  genre  in  with  the  more  modern  era,  when  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  finally  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  and  clean  playing  is  also  added  towards  the  end.

  On  this  recording  Heruka  brings  in  a  more  modern  and  aggressive  approach  to  black  metal.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Italian  and  cover  poetry  and  death  themes.

Lux Anguis/Tenebris Arcanum/2025 Full Length Review

 

  Argentina's  solo  project  Lux  Anguis  has  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  moving  away  from  the  black  metal  elements  of  previous  releases  and  going  for  more  of  a  mixture  of  dungeon  synth,  darkwave  and  ambient  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  self  released  2025  album  "Tenebris  Arcanum".

  Dungeon  synth  style  synths  start  off  the  album  while  also  adding  in  a  variety  of  many  different  sounding  keys.  Elements  of  dark  ambient  are  also  utilized  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording  along  with  all  of  the  tracks  also  sounding  very  different  from  each  other  and  programmed  beats  can  also  be  heard  at  times.

  Touches  of  darkwave  are  also  utilized  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording  while  all  of  the  tracks  are  instrumentals.  At  times  the  music  also  gets  very  ritualistic  sounding  and  a  lot  of  the  songs  also  capture  the  atmosphere  of  either  a  horror  or  fantasy  soundtrack.

  On  this  recording  Lux  Anguis  moves  away  from  the  black  metal  style  of  previous  releases  and  focuses  more  on  a  mixture  of  dungeon  synth,  darkwave  and  ambient  as  well  as  remining  very  ritualistic  and  occult  sounding  at  the  same  time  while  the  production  sounds  very  dark.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Lux  Anguis  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  ritualistic  dark  ambient,  darkwave  and  dungeon  synth,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Rituals  Beneath  The  Blood  Moon"  "Hymns  of  The  Forgotten  Cult"  "Under  The  Eclipse  OF  The  Dying  Gods"  and  "Covenant  Of  The  Blood  Serpent".  8 out  of  10.

  Egatalipsi  are  a  solo  project  from  Greece  that  plays  a  mixture  of  raw  black  metal,  punk  and  crust  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  and  self  titled  ep.

  A  very  fast  and  raw  sound  starts  off  the  ep  along  with  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  while  the  guitar  leads  also  add  in  some  melodies  and  old  school  touches  as  well  as  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  great  amount  of  punk  and  crust  elements.

  Most  of  the  songs  stick  to  either  a  2  to  3  minute  limit  while  most  of  the  riffing  is  done  on  power  chords.  Growls  can  also  be  heard  at  times  along  with  most  of  the  songs  sticking  to  a  faster  direction  and  the  music  also  remains  very  heavy  from  the  beginning  to  end  of  the  recording.

  Egatalipsi  plays  a  musical  style  that  is  mostly  rooted  in  raw  black  metal  as  well  as  adding  in  elements  of  punk  and  crust  to  create  a  sound  of  his  own.  The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  angry  themes.

  A  very  fast  and  raw  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  some  angry  sounding  black  metal  screams  a  few  seconds  later.  Melodies  are  also  added  into  a  lot  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  as  well  as  the  music  also  being  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  mid  90's  era.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.  Spoken  words  can  also  be  heard  briefly  along  with  some  of  the  vocals  also  adding  in  a  lot  of  growls  as  well  as  the  music  also  bringing  in  elements  of  death  metal  at  times.

  Ghörnt  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  fast  and  melodic  in  the  mid  90's  tradition  as  well  as  adding  in  a  touch  of  death  metal  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  Swiss  and  cover  vampires  and  local  myths.

  In  my  opinion  Ghörnt  are  a  very  great  sounding  fast,  melodic  and  old  school  black  metal  duo  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Bluetgraf"  "Vlad"  and  "Hass".  8  out  of  10.

U Kronakh Interview

 

1.Can you give us an update on what has been going on with the band since the recording of the new album?

1 - After writing and recording the album, mixing and mastering, as well as creating the artwork and design, the next stages follow. Right now, we are in the final stretch, and the release is coming soon. After all this, we will start working on new material.

2.You have a new album coming out later on march, musically how does it differ from the stuff you have released in the past?

2 - The difference between Archaic Dance of the Winds and our previous releases lies primarily in the different sound and the evolution of the project's stylistic concept, as the search for "our sound and style" has been ongoing and will continue.

3.A lot of your lyrics cover  the mysticism of the Carpathian Mountains and the events of ancient times, can you tell us a little bit more about your interest in these topics?

3 - The raw mountains hold all the inspiration. There are still places untouched by human activity, though they are becoming fewer. At the same time, only by understanding the past can we understand who we are and where we came from. In fact, we and our present existence in this form are consequences of the past. Since history has been distorted, rewritten countless times by those in power for their own needs, we are left with myths, legends, and the ability to think for ourselves.

4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'U Kronakh'?

4 - The name U Kronakh (in Latin script), which means "in tree crowns" in Ukrainian, naturally emerged from the places mentioned above, where our inspiration comes from. When you are in the forest, you look up, and in the tree crowns, you witness the same phenomena and objects that humanity has seen and revered since its inception.

5.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the new album cover?

5 - The cover is based on a personal photo taken during a hike to Mount Pip Ivan Chornohirskyi in the Ukrainian Carpathians. It depicts a real place from the route.

6.The band started out as a solo project, what was the decision behind working with other musicians?

6 - The project, in essence, remains a solo endeavor, as all the music is created by one person (Voidger). However, at the recording stage, the help of other musicians is needed to bring all the ideas to life in the best possible way, as the author is neither a vocalist nor a drummer.

7.Has the band had any opportunities to do any live shows?

7 - Yes, there have been offers, but there is no desire to go on stage. The initial idea, which remains unchanged, is that this is a studio project. However, the possibility is not entirely ruled out.

8.On the new album you also have some session musicians, can you tell us a little bit more about who they are and their contributions to the recording?

8 - Vitalii Wormwood joined the project to record vocals. The drums, as on previous albums, were played by Lycane. Everyone involved in the recording and overall production contributed something of their own, adding their unique touch, which only benefited the album. The guys have experience. Also, we should not forget the significant work of sound engineer Roman Morvudd Sapozhnikov, whom I jokingly called the second composer because he played a crucial role in how everything sounded.

9.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of black metal?

9 - Overall, the reaction has been positive. Given my perspective on this—creating music for personal satisfaction first, and if someone else enjoys it, great; if not, that’s their choice—everything is going well.

10.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

10 - There is a war in our country. It's impossible to plan anything, and we don’t even know what tomorrow will bring. But we will continue working—albums don’t record themselves.

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles the band members are listening to nowadays?

11 - I mostly listen to black metal—bands like Inquisition, Dark Funeral, Taake, Drudkh. Sometimes I listen to death metal, funeral doom, or post-metal. I also have a massive Dungeon Synth playlist for reading books.

Vitalii Wormwood has recently been into the Swedish avant-garde/black/post-metal band Terra Tenebrosa and French black metal bands like Mütiilation, Sektemtum, Doctor Livingstone.

  Helvetestromb  are  a  band  from  Sweden  that  has  been  featured  before  in  this  zine  and  on  this  recording  goes  for  a  mixture  of  black,  thrash  and  speed  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2025  album  "Apocalyptic  Fires"  which  was  released  in  2024  by  Master  Of  Kaos  Productions.

  Apocalyptic  soundscapes  start  off  the  album  before  going  into  more  of  a  heavier  and  melodic  direction  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams.  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast b eats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

  Elements  of  thrash  metal  are  also  utilized  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  A  lit  of  the  music  also  mixes  the  first  and  second  wave  together  along  with  the  solos  and  leads  also being  done  in  a  very  old  school  style.

   Influences  of  speed  metal  are  also  used  on  most  of  the  tracks  as  well  as  some  growls  also  being  utilized  at  times  along  with  one  song  also  introducing  spoken  words  onto  the  album,  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  clear  singing  can  also  be  heard  briefly  and  the  whole  album  also  sticks  to  a  heavier  direction.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Mayan  Culture,  Ritual  Sacrifice,  war-Torn  Landscapes  and  Metaphysical  Descent.   

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Helvetestromb  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  black,  thrash  and  speed  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Pools  Of  Prophecy"  "Total  Necroarmageddon"  Nekrotik  Mass"  and  "Chapel  of  Stilled  Voices".  8  out  of  10.

  Europe's  Silver  Knife  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  an  raw  and  atmospheric  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  titled  2025  album  which  will  be  released  in  April  as  a  joint  effort  between  Amor  Fati  Productions  and  Extraconscious  Recordings.

  A  very  dark  yet  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  album  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams.  Most  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  along  with  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  decent  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  which  also  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  along  with  a  couple  of  tracks  also  adding  in  some  post  rock  style  clean  playing.

  Angry  shouts  can  also  be  heard  at  times  along  with  the  music  also  having  its  atmospheric  moments  and  when  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  finally  utilized  they  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style,  clear  singing  can  also  be  heard  briefly.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  alienation,  conflict  and  perseverance  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Silver  Knife  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  and  atmospheric  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Silver"  and  "Triumph  In  Tragedy".  8  out  of  10.

  Tuslatarahn  are  a  solo  project  from  Austria  that  plays  a  avery  atmospheric  and  old  school  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2025  album  "Erwachen"  which  was  released  by  Black  Death  Production.

  In  my  opinion  Tuslatarahn  is  a  very  great  sounding  atmospheric  old  school  black  metal  solo  project  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Keine  Heimkehr"  "Im  Entselbtesten"  and  "Gottlose  Brut".  8  out  of  10.

  Switzerland's  Malphas  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  a  very  fast  and  aggressive  form  of  occult  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2025  album  "Extinct"  which  will  be  released  in  April  by  Soulseller  Records.

  A  very  fast  and  aggressive  sound  starts  off  the  album  while  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  done  in  very  melodic  style.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  along  with  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  which  also  gives  the  recording  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  A  lot  of  the  music  is  heavily  influenced  by  the  classic  Swedish  style  along  with  some  of  the  tracks  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  clean  playing  as  well  as  some  of  the  vocals  also  bringing  in  more  of  an  angry  shouting  style,  piano's  and  synths  can  also  be  heard  briefly  and  the  closing  song  is  an  instrumental.

  On  this  recording  Malphas  goes  for  a  very  fast,  melodic  and  traditional  style   of  occult  black  metal.  The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  Occultism  and  Death  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Malphas  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  fast  and  aggressive  occult  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Psychomachia"  "Majestic  Moon"  "Gamygyn"  and  "Astral  Dissonance".  8  out  of  10.

  A  very  heavy,  dark  and  melodic  sound  starts  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and  raw  musical  direction  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast beats.  At  times  the  music  also  captures  the  brutality  of  war  metal  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams.

  A  lot  of  the  music  is  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  90's  era  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  also  remain  true  to  an  old  school  style  along  with  some tracks  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  clean  playing  and  synths  can  also  be  heard  briefly  and  the  music  focuses  more  on  an  aggressive  style,  spoken  words  are  also  added  towards  the  end.

  Rain  and  thunder  sounds  start  off  the  album  along  with  some  clean  playing  a  few  seconds  which  also  returns  on  later  tracks  later  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction.  Vocals  are  a  mixture  of  death  metal  growls  and  black  metal  screams  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  blast  beats  are  added  into  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs.

  When  tremolo  picking  is  added  into  the  faster  riffing  they  also  give  the  album  more  of  a  raw  feeling  while  the  riffs  also  add  in  a  lot  of  melody.  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  some  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  as  well  as  the  music  also  being  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  old  school  era  and  spoken  words  are  added  on  the  closing  track.

  On  this  recording  Cogas  goes  back  to  the  classic  era  of  black  metal  and  mixes  it  with  the  brutality  of  death  metal  to  create  a  very  heavy  release.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  Sardinian  Folklore,  Suicide,  Death,  Necromancy  and  Paranormal  themes.   

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Cogas  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  old  school  black  and  death  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Dead  Reflected"  "Autopsy  Of  A  Hallow"  and  "La  fiamma  che  respiro".  8  out  of  10.
