Laetitia In Holocaust/I Rise With The Dead/Masked Dead Records/Sulphur Music/2025 EP Review

 

  Italy's  Laetitia  In  Holocaust  has  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  an  atmospheric  and  avant  garde  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2025  ep  "I  Rise  With  The  Dead"  which  will  be  released  on  November  28th  as  a  joint  effort  between  Masked  Dead  Records  and  Sulphur  Music.

  A  very  dark  yet  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  ep  while  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style.  One  of  the  tracks  is  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  along  with  some  melodies  also  being  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  and  the  vocals  are  mostly  angry  sounding  black  metal  screams.

  At  times  the  music  also  gets  very  avant  garde  and  atmospheric  sounding  while  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.  During  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast beats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  recording  more  of  a r aw  feeling  and  the  tracks  also  add  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts,  synths  can  also  be  heard  at  times.

  On  this  recording  Laetitia  In  Holocaust  brings  out  a  very  modern,  atmospheric  and  avant  garde  style  of  black  metal.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  are  written  in  a  mixture  of  Italian  and  English  cover  the  transience  of  vigor  and  beauty  and  the  poison  of  Christianity.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Laetitia  In  Holocaust  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  atmospheric  and  avant  garde  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Of  Feathers  And  Doom".

Laetitia In Holocaust/Fanciulli D'Occidente/Dusktone/2024 Full Length Review

 

  Italy's  Laetitia  In  Holocaust  has  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  an  avant  garde  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2024  album  "Fanciulli  D'Occidente"  which  will  be  released  on  May  31st  by  Dusktone.

  A  very  heavy  and  avant  garde  sound  starts  off  the  album  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  which  also  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  Vocals  are  mostly  of  grim  yet  high  pitched  sounding  black  metal  screams  and  and  a  brief  use  of  melodic  singing   .

  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  while clean  playing  is  also  added  into  certain  sections  of  the  recording.  Synths  are  also  utilized  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  album  along  with  the  solos  and  leads  also  bring  in  a  very  melodic  and  dissonant  style.

  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  along  with  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  Stringed  instruments,  acoustic  guitars,  synths,  whispers  and  spoken  word  parts  can  also  be  heard  briefly  as  well  as  one  song  also  being  an  instrumental,  a  couple  of  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  philosophical  themes. 

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Laetitia  In  Holocaust  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  avant  garde  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Celestial  And  Buried"  and  "From  Plowshares  To  Swords".  8  out  of  10.

  Laetitia  In  Holocaust  are  a  band  from  Italy  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  on  this  recording  plays  an  avant  garde  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a review  of  their  2021  ep  "I  Fall  With  The  Saints"  which  will  be  released  in  July  by  Brucia  Records.

  A  powerful  sounding  bass  guitar  starts  off  the  ep  along  with  some  heavier  riffing  a  few  seconds  later.  Vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams  while  the  riffs  also  add  in  a d ecent  amount  of  melody  and  avant  garde  structures  along  with  the  solos  and  leads  also  being  done  in  a  very  melodic  style.

  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can  be  heard  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  At  times  the music  also  gets  very  dissonant  and  experimental  sounding  along  with  one  track  also  being  a  remake  of  a  2009  song  and  the  closing  song  also  adds  in  some  synths,  clean  singing  and  whispers.

  On  this  recording  Laetitia  In  Holocaust  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  experimental,  avant  garde  and  dissonant  sounding.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  and  philosophical  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Laetitia  In  Holocaust  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  avant  garde  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "I  Fall  With  The  Saints".  8  out  of  10.

  Laetitia  In  Holocaust  are  a  duo  from  Italy  that  plays  an  raw,   melodic  and  avant  garde  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2019  album  "Fauci  Tra  Fauci"  which  was  released  by  Third  I  Rex.

  A  very  dark  and  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  album  while  whispered  vocals  can  also  be  heard  briefly.  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  music  more  of  a  raw  feeling  and  the  solos  are  done  in  a  melodic  style.

  Vocals  are  mostly  grim  black  metal  screams  along  with  the  songs  also  bringing  in  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  while  a  couple  of  the  tracks  are  very  long  and  epic  in  length  as  well  as  the  riffs  also  adding  in  a  decent  amount  of  melody.

  Classical  guitars  can  also  be  heard  briefly  while  the  music  also  brings  in  a  decent  mixture  of  both  modern  and  old  school  influences  and  as  the  album  progresses  a  brief  use  of  avant  garde  style  piano's  and  clean  vocals  can  be  heard  before  going  back  to  a  heavier direction.  The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  heavy  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark,  mythological  and  philosophical  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Laetitia  In  Holocaust  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw,  melodic  and  avant  garde  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out t his  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Through  The  Eyes  Of  Argo"  "The  Elders  knew"  and  "Gods  in  The  Swarm".  8  out  of  10.
