  Belarus's  Pa  Vesh  En  has  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  more  of  a  raw  and  lo-fi  form  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2023  album  "Catacombs"  which  will  be  released  in  November  by  Inferna  Profundus  Records.

  A  very  dark  yet  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  album  while  you  can  also  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  the  recording.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  along  with  the  solos  and  leads  also  being  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  when  they  are  utilized  and  the  music  also  adds  in  touches  of  minimalism.

  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast b eats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  album  more  of  a  raw  feeling.  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  along  with  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  as  well  as  some  of  the  vocals  also  adding  in  influences  of  dsbm.

  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  along  with  the  music  also  capturing  a  very  lo-fi  atmosphere  at  times  as  well  as  the  album  also  has  its  atmospheric  and  experimental  moments.  The  production  sounds  very  dark,  raw  and  lo-fi  while  the  lyrics  cover  death,  darkness  and  occultism  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Pa  Vesh  En  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  and  lo-fi  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Call  of  The  Dead"  "Chalice  of  Blood"  "Damnation  And  The  Witch"  and  "Walks  With  The  Dead".  8  out  of  10.

  Belarus's  solo  project  Pa  Vesh  En  has  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  more  of  a  raw  and  depressive  mixture  of  black  and  funeral  doom  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2023  album  "Martyrs"  which  will  be  released  in  May  by  Iron  Bonehead  Productions.

  Ambient  style  synths  and  soundscapes  start  off  the  album  and  also  mixes  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  songs  at  times.  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  done  in  a  very  dark  yet  melodic  style  while  some  of  the  vocals  also  add  in  more  of  a  bestial  growling  approach  that  is  mixed  down  low   in the  mix.

  Black  metal  screams  can  also  be  heard  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording  while  the  album  also  captures  a  very  lo-fi  atmosphere.  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can be  heard  which  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling  along  with  the  slower  sections  of  the  tracks  also  adding  in  elements  of  funeral  doom  metal.

   

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mi  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  some  depressive  screams  also  being  utilized  at  times.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  as  well  as  a  couple  of  the  tracks  also  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length,  clean  vocals  and  spoken  word  parts  are  also  added  on  the  closing  track.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  are  divided  into  3  different  acts  and  cover  the  French  film  "Martyrs".

  Atmospheric  sounding  drones  and  ambient  style  synths  start  off  the  album  and  also  mixes  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  music  at  times.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  yet  depressive  black  metal  screams  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  and  tremolo  picking  which  also  gives  the  album  more  of  a  raw  feeling.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  decent  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  the  solos  and  and  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  dark  yet  melodic  style.  A  small  amount  of  melody  can  also  be  heard  in  some  of  the  riffing  along  with  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  as  well as  a  lter  track  also  adding  in  a  brief  use  of  clean  vocals  and  spoken  word  parts.

  On  this  recording  Pa  vesh  En  gets  less  experimental  and  adds  more  depressive  elements  into  his  raw  style  of  black  metal  and  the  music  is  also  a  lot  more  aggressive  than  previous  releases.  The  production  sounds  very  dark,  raw  and  lo-fi  while  the  lyrics  cover  darkness,  violence,  horror  and  occultism  themes.

  Belarus's  solo  project  Pa  Vesh  En  has  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  continues  the  raw  style  of  ambient  black  metal  from  previous  releases  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2019  album  "Pyrefication"  which  will  be  released  in  August  by  Iron  Bonehead  Productions.

  Dark  soundscapes  start  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  heavier  musical  direction  which  also  mixes  in  ambient  style  synths  in  with  the  heavy  parts.  Vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  depressive  black  metal  screams  that  are  kind  of  mixed  down  low  in  the  mix  and  a  couple  of  the  tracks  are  long  and  epic  in  length.

  When  guitar  leads  are  utilized  they  are  done  in  a  very  melodic  and  depressive  style  while  the  music  also  evokes  a  very  lo-fi  atmosphere.  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling  as  well  as  some  clean  vocals  also  being  used  briefly.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  ad  fast  parts  along  with  some  of  the  riffing  also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  dark  sounding  melodies,  one  track  also  introduces a  brief  use  of  throat  singing  and  whispers  onto  the  recording  and  as  the  album  progresses  field  recording  can  also  be  heard in  certain  sections  of  the  recording.  The  production  sounds  very  dark,  raw  and  lo-fi  while  the  lyrics  cover  necromancy,  darkness  and  death  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Pa  Vesh  En  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  and  lo-fi  ambient  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Wastelands  of  Plagues"  "Grotesque  Abomination"  and  "Pyre  Of  The  Forgotten".  8  out  of  10.

  Distorted  ambient  soundscapes  start  off  the  album before  going  into a   very  fast  and  raw  musical  direction  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams  along  with  the  riffs  also  bringing  in  a  decent  amount  of  dark  sounding  melodies.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  a  couple  of  the  tracks  are  very  long  and  epic  in  length  along  with  some  dark  sounding  melodies  being  buried  underneath  a  very  lo-fi  atmosphere  and  at  times  ambient  elements  are  also  mixed  into  the  heavier  sections  of  the  music  as  well  as  a  couple  of  the  tracks  being  instrumentals  and  at  times  the  music  also  mixes  in  depressive  elements.

  Pa  Vesh  En  creates  another  recording  that  remains  true  to  his  raw  style  of  ambient  black  metal,  the  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  and  depressive  themes.

  This  is  a  review  of  a  split  album  between  Belarus's  Pa  Vesh  En  and  United  Kingdom's  Temple  Moon  which  will be  released  in  August  by  Iron  Bonehead  Productions  and  we  will  start  off  the  review  with  Pa  Vesh  En  a  band  that  has  recently  had music  reviewed  in  this  zine  and  plays  a  very  raw  form  of  black  metal.

  Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  dark  soundscapes  and  heavy  riffing  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and  raw  musical  direction  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking and  blast  beats  while  the  vocals  bring  in  a  mixture  of  high  pitched  depressive  black  metal  screams  and  bestial  growls  which  are  kind  of  mixed  down  low  in  the  mix.

  Throughout  their  side  of  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts while  the  riffs  also  bring  in  a  decent  amount  of  dark  sounding  melodies  at  times  along  with  a  small  amount  of  guitar  leads  as  well a s  a  brief  use  of  ambient  elements  and  on  the  closing  track  spoken  word  parts  are  added  into  this  music,  the  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  darkness, night  and  occultism  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Pa  Vesh  En  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  ambient  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  their  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The  Murder  Instinct"  and  "Damnation  And  The  Witch".

  Next  up  is  Temple  Moon  a  solo  project  that  plays  an  old  school  form  of  black  metal.

  His  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  fast  and  raw  sound  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking and  blast  beats  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  black  metal  screams  along  with  the  music  being  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  90's  and  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.

  Melodies  can  also  be  heard  in  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  the  music  also  captures  a  depressive  atmosphere  at  times  along  with  the  music  sounding  like  it  could  of  easily  been  recorded  and  released  25  years  ago  and  there  is  also  a  brief  use  of  atmospheric  sounding  synths  and  clean  playing,  the  production  sounds  very  dark,  raw  and  old  school  while  the  lyrics  cover  nature  themes. 

  In  my  opinion  Temple  Moon  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  and  old  school  black  metal  solo  project  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  his  side  of  the  split.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Ceremonial  Decay"  and  "VI".

  In  conclusion  I  feel  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  split  and  I  would  recommend  it  to  all  fans  of  raw  black  metal.  8  out  of  10.

  Pa  Vesh  En  are  a  solo  project  from  Belarus  that  plays  a  very  raw  form  of  ambient  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2018  ep  "A  Ghost"  which  will  be  released  in  July  by  Iron  Bonehead  Productions.

  Atmospheric  drones  start  off  the  ep  along  with  some  heavy  and  melodic  riffing  a  few  seconds  later  while  the  vocals  are  depressive  black  metal  screams  along  with  both  of  the  tracks  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length  as  well  as  mixing  the  dark  ambient  elements  into  the  heavier  sections  of  the  music.

  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can  also  be  heard  which  also  gives  the  songs  a  more  raw  feeling  while  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  at  times  the  music  gets  very  experimental  as  well  as  some  melodic  guitar  leads  being  used  briefly  and  the  music  captures  ambience  without  the  use  of  a  synth.

  Pa  Vesh  En  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  a  very  raw  and  depressive  form  of  black  metal  and  mixes  it  with  dark  ambient  to  create  something  very  different,  the  production  sounds  very  dark,  raw  and  lo-fi  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  and  supernatural  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Pa  Vesh  En  are  a  very  great  sounding  raw  ambient  black  metal  solo  project  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Haunting  And  Mourning".  8  out  of  10.
