Erotica Interview

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the solo project?

Erotica is sometimes keller synth but not really, other times it is what I call "keller black metal" which is like black metal but written like keller synth.

2.With this project you have released a good amount of material, can you tell us a little bit more about the musical styles that you have gone for on the recordings so far?

The first few releases were just songs that I programmed on my phone that sounded like keller synth. The last two things were also written on my phone but in a black metal way with vocals. My writing process for the project is essentially just selecting notes that sound cool and putting them in a line, extremely different from my main band Forgotten Ruin which is why I made a separate project.

3.You are also involved with a few other musical projects, what is it that you bring into the music f 'Erotica' that you have not been able to do with your other groups?

More synths is the main difference as well as my writing style, and the fact that I use real instruments in the other bands

4.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects you have explored so far with the music?

I'm going to let that remain a mystery actually, my goal is to let people figure it out themselves.

5.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the new ep cover?

The artwork is just a photo of me that looked cool, I like editing my photos to be cool colors.

6.With this project you record everything by yourself but have also worked with another musician in another project, do you prefer to work solo?

I have no preference I have plenty of solo projects and plenty of bands too, I enjoy the freedom of working solo just as much as I like the fun of working with others. When I am in bands with other people it forces me to consider elements of the music that I wouldn't usually think of.

7.On the new release you also did a 'Dream Theater' cover, what was the decision behind doing your own version of one of their songs?

Charlie Dominici the original vocalist of Dream Theater died recently and I decided to record the cover in his honor as the band is very important to me.

8.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of black metal and dungeon synth?

People like it I guess, I some people from all different places telling me they like the music, it's always nice to see when my work makes someone happy, I have fun making the tunes and like when people have fun listening.

9.What is going on with your other musical projects these days?

I haven't written any Forgotten Ruin or Veiled Lady in a bit, focusing on other things right now but I have plans for them both for when I'm ready to write again. I think both those projects are much better than Erotica and I find it to be pretty strange that Erotica is more popular than them but what can I do ya know.

10.Where do you see yourself heading into as a musician during the future?

I think I'll keep doing what I'm doing till I get bored and move on to something new, I don't see that happening soon but it usually does eventually with me.

11.Does Occultism play any role in your music?

Not at all I don't hold any beliefs on the matter.

12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

No I don't, thanks for having me and thanks to all the fans and friends.
