Witches Sabbath are a band from Spain that plays an aggressive mixture of black and death metal and this is a review of their self released 2014 ep "EP Of The Dead".
A very fast and brutal blackened death metal sound starts off the ep along with some growls and you can hear some old school metal melodies in their music along with some black metal screams and the solos and leads the band uses are in a melodic and technical musical direction and the band also uses a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Blast beats can be heard in certain sections of the recording along with some modern elements of metal as the ep progresses as well as this recording being even more death metal influenced than their older material while black metal can still be heard quite a bit in the newer material with the 4th track displaying a melodic style of black/death metal close to the Swedish style of the musical genre and the version they do of Danzig's "Dirty Black Summer" sounds nothing like the original version with the music being in more of a brutal direction while the last track has more of a blackened punk feeling to it.
Witches Sabbath take the most aggressive forms of black and death metal and combine them together while also having a great amount of melody in their style, the production sounds very powerful while the lyrics cover death, isolation, suicide, anger and hate.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Witches Sabbath and if you are a fan of black and death metal, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Broken Glasses" "Giziel" and "Ugly". 8 out of 10.
Thank you for the nice comments!
