Blackdeath are a band from Russia that has been featured before in this zine and plays a very raw and satanic form of black metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "Gift" which was released by Heidens Hart Records.
A very fast, dark, raw and old school black metal sound starts off the album along with a great amount of blast beats and the solos and leads they use are very melodic yet chaotic at the same time and the vocals they use are grim screams and the songs also bring in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them along with a few tracks that are very long and epic in length and as the album progresses the riffs start incorporating some evil sounding melodies while still being very raw, heavy and aggressive at the same time and the tone of the guitars gives the music an original yet technical or progressive feeling with the way it is performed without losing any of the rawness or heaviness of the genre and there is never any soft or clean parts presented anywhere on the recording.
Blackdeath remains true to a raw and satanic style of black metal on this recording while also bringing in a different guitar tone that adds a lot of originality to the genre, the production sounds very raw yet powerful and heavy at the same time while the lyrics are written in Russian and cover Satanism, Occultism, Left Hand Path and Anti Christian themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Blackdeath and if you are a fan of this band, you should enjoy this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Der Hammer des steinman Molochs" "Enigma" and "Die scharzen Cherubinen". 8 out of 10.
