Projekt NOIR are a 1 man band from Portugal that plays an avant garde and post form of depressive black metal and this is a review of his self released 2015 ep "Sky".
A very dark and avant garde sound starts off the ep along with some melodic guitar leads that add a post black metal feeling to all of the tracks and vocals that use both clean singing, spoken word parts and grim screams and after the intro the music starts incorporating more ambient and nature sounds.
Once the music starts progressing more the ep starts having more of a heavy and depressive atmosphere and all of the songs stick to a very slow musical direction which also gives the ep a ritualistic feeling along with all of the tracks being experimental and adding in new elements ot the black metal genre.
Projekt NOIR creates a style of post black metal that has a depressive vocal approach, melodic guitar leads and some experimental and avant garde element s which makes the recording sound original, the production sound s very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in Icelandic and cover dark themes.
In my opinion Projekt NOIR are a very great sounding avant garde, post black metal project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Sjalfsmynd Daudleikens" and "A Vit Tilgangs". 8 out of 10.
