Foret D' Orient are a band from Italy that plays an atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Venetia" which was released by Visionaire Records.
A very dark and militant sounding intro starts off the album along with some classical music elements which also gives the recording an epic feeling and after the intro the music starts getting more heavy and melodic along with some black metal screams while also keeping the sounds from the intro.
When solos and leads are utilized they are very melodic sounding and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard and you can also hear a symphony orchestra in the background and acoustic guitars can be heard in certain sections of the recording and a couple of the tracks are long and epic in length and there is also a brief use of melodic chanting, opera vocals and spoken word parts in some of the songs.
Foret D' Orient plays a musical style that is mostly rooted in atmospheric black metal while also mixing in harps and a symphony orchestra to create a very different musical style, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in Latin and are inspired by romance esotericism, hidden episodes and cultural traditions of pre-unitary of italic peninsula.
In my opinion Forest D' Orient are a very great sounding orchestra orientated atmospheric black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "A Reitia" and "Dominio da Mar". 8 out of 10.
