Licho are a band from Poland that plays a very dark, progressive and avant garde form of black metal and this is a review of t heir 2017 album "Podnoszenie Cazarow" which was released by Malignant Voices.
A very avant garde sounding intro starts off the album along with some demonic laughter and piano's and after the intro the music goes into a heavier direction along with some dark sounding melodies while you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording.
When guitar leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic fashion while the vocals are mostly grim black metal screams and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard and spoken word parts are also used briefly and some songs also bring in a small amount of clean playing and a couple of the tracks are long and epic in length and there is also a brief use of chanting as the album progresses and all of the songs stick to either a slow or mid paced musical direction.
Licho plays a style of black metal that is very progressive and avant garde sounding while also having a raw and less experimental edge than most bands of this genre, the production sound s very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in Polish and cover Onirism and Poetry themes.
In my opinion Licho are a very great sounding dark, progressive and avant garde black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album, RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "adarte" and "Drang". 8 out of 10.
