Devil's Emissary are a band from Poland that plays a raw mixture of black and death metal and this is a review of their 2017 ep "Demiurge Asceticism" which will be released in September by Third Eye Temple.
A very dark yet heavy bass guitar starts off the ep along with some grim black metal screams a few seconds later which also leads to the music adding in tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling as well as adding in some bestial death metal growls.
Throughout the recording there is a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the slower sections also adding in a touch of doom/death while the music also brings in a perfect mixture of both old school and modern influences and most of the tracks are very long and epic in length and also adds in a brief use of guitar leads and the music always remains heavy.
Devil's Emissary plays a musical style that takes a raw form of black metal and mixes it in with a dark style of death metal along with some bestial touches to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Darkness and Occultism themes.
In my opinion Devil's Emissary are a very great sounding raw and bestial mixture of black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Transcendental Rite". 8 out of 10.
