Dark Paramount are a band from Brazil that plays a perverse and necrooccult form of black metal and this is a review of their 2017 album "Factor Obscurus" which was released by Vacula Productions.
Ritualistic sounding synths start off the album along with some demonic chanting a few seconds later before going into a heavier direction which also introduces melodic guitar leads onto the recording along with some grim black metal screams while the riffs also bring in a decent amount of melody.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them while the faster sections of the songs also bring in a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the tracks a more raw feeling along with some synths also being mixed in the heavier sections of the music.
Most of the is very heavily rooted in the early 90's era while clean vocals also being used briefly along with some death metal growls, evil laughter, whispers and doom metal elements being used at times and when spoken word parts are utilized they give the songs more of a ritualistic feeling.
Dark Paramount plays a style of occult black metal that is very heavily rooted in the 90's along with some elements of doom and death metal, the production sounds very raw and old school while the lyrics cover darkness, evil, mythology, satanism, luciferian and occultism themes.
In my opinion Dark Paramount are a very great sounding occult black metal band with elements of doom and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Wolferian Metampsychosis" "Translyvanian Dawn" and "Remphan Rites". 8/5 out of 10.
