Sammath are a band from the Netherlands that was actually the first band to ever be interviewed by this zine that plays a very fast, heavy and aggressive form of black metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "Godless Arrogance" which was released by Hammerheart Productions.
The album starts out with a very fast, heavy and raw black metal sound along with high pitched screams and brutal blast beats and at times the y slow down for a few seconds but for the most part stick to fast and brutal sound and after awhile guitar solos and leads become a part of the recording.
When the album goes into the other songs they continue their fast and brutal assault while also adding melody into certain sections of the recording as well as bringing in a small amount of death metal growls and influences at times and as time goes on by the bass guitars start getting a lot more powerful in sound.
With this album Sammath bring out a very fast and brutal black metal sound similar to mid 90's Marduk when they where playing really fast but also having a different sound to them and this recording returns a lot of brutality, speed and aggression which is rarely heard these days in this genre.
Song lyrics cover Violence, War and Anti Religion themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful and heavy sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Sammath and if you are a fan of heavy, fast and aggressive black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Shot in The Mass" "Thrive in Arrogance" and "Nineteen Corpses hang In The Mist". 8/5 out of 10.
