This is a review of another recording from Nihilistinen Barbaarisuus which continues their ambient black metal sound and this is a review of their 2013 ep "Vanamoinen" which was released by Infernal Kommando Records.
The ep starts out with a dark ambient and atmospheric sound before going into a more fast raw black metal direction along with grim screams and blast beats while also keeping around the synths as well as bringing in deeper elements to the vocals and then slowing down and adding in a more traditional metal feeling while also remaining true to their core sound.
As the ep progresses they bring in a brief use of clean playing before going into an even more atmospheric black metal direction while also keeping around the faster parts and the following song is a brief instrumental which uses acoustic guitars and ambient synths.
With this ep Nihilistinen Barbaarisuus continue the sound that was on their previous recording while also adding in more raw sounding aggression and heaviness and c reating a song that is very long and epic in length.
Song lyrics cover Artic, Northern Winter, and Isolation themes, while the production has a very dark and raw sound to it with only one full song and an instrumental being present on this ep.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Nihilistinen Barbaarisuus and if you are a fan of raw and cold ambient black metal, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Vanamoinen". 8 out of 10.
