Solitvdo are a 1 man band from Italy that plays a very melodic and atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of his 2014 album "Immerso In Un Boscoe Di Querce" which was released by Naturmacht Productions.
Dark sounding synths start off the album giving the music an ambient feeling along with a sound that would be a perfect fit for a fantasy movie soundtrack and after the intro the music goes into more of a black metal direction while also keeping around the atmospheric elements as well as adding grim screams into the music.
Most of the tracks are very long and epic in length along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound and you can also hear a great amount of melody in all of the songs and the synths and orchestra also incorporate other genres into the music along with some clean playing and acoustic guitars being added into certain sections of the recording. and the solos and leads that are present on the album are in a very melodic direction.
As the album progresses the music gets more progressive and clean singing vocals can be heard in certain sections of the recording along with some violins being brought in at times and some of the songs also bring in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as adding in blast beats at times and the fast sections also bring in a very raw style of black metal and after awhile nature sounds start becoming a huge part of the songs and you can also hear a bit of doom metal being added into the slower sections of the recording.
Solitvdo plays a style of atmospheric black metal that is very melodic and brings in a variety of influences from many different genres to create a very diverse, dark and melancholic album, the production sounds very dark and powerful while the lyrics are written in German and cover darkness and nature themes.
In my opinion Solitvdo are a very great sounding atmospheric black metal project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Rivolta!" and "Nella solitudine ill divino". 8 out of 10.
