Finland's solo project Nobody has returned with a new recording which continues the move away from the acoustic style of black metal and expands on the dark folk direction of the precious release and this is a review of his 2024 ep "Neurotic Age" which will be released in August by Inverse Records.
Acoustic guitars which also add in a good mixture of full chords and finger picking start off the ep while also adding in elements of folk music while the keyboards also add in some psychedelic touches when they are utilized. Vocals are done in more of a clean style along with some spoken word samples also being utilized briefly, percussions are also utilized at times and each song also sounds very different from each other, guitar solos and leads are also added on the closing track.
On this recording Nobody continues the expand on the dark folk music direction he was worked with on the previous releases. The production sounds very dark while the lyrics cover madness and murder themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Nobody and if you are a fan of dark folk, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Stronger Then Dead" and "Godslayer". 8 out of 10.
