Aklash are a band from the United Kingdom that plays a very atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of their 2018 album "Where The Ocean Meets The Sky" which was released by Infernum Records.
A very fast and raw musical direction starts off the album along with a great amount of blast beats and tremolo picking while the solos and leads are done in a very melodic fashion along with the vocals being mostly high pitched black metal screams and all of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to t hem.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the clean vocals give the music more of a pagan metal feeling along with most of the tracks being very long and epic in length and the music also captures the modern atmospheric style and some songs also bring in a small amount of acoustic guitars as well as a brief use of synths and stringed instruments and a couple of the tracks are all instrumental.
Aklash plays a style of black metal that is very modern, melodic and atmospheric sounding along with some pagan metal and folk music elements, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Heathenism and Spirituality themes.
In my opinion Aklash are a very great sounding atmospheric black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Cascading Darkness" "All Noble Deeds Are Touched With Melancholy" and 'Vigil". 8 out of 10.
