Fallen Tyrant are a band from Germany that plays an old school form of black metal and this is a review of their 2018 album "Children Of A Nuclear Dawn" which was released by Bleeding Heart Nihilist Productions.
Spoken word samples start off the album before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also uses a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats while the music is very heavily rooted in the 90's era as well as the vocals being mostly high pitched black metal screams.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them while the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with a couple of the tracks being very long and epic in length as well as some clean playing also being added into certain sections of the recording,
There is also a brief use of synths and saxophones on a couple of the tracks while spoken word samples also return on later tracks along with the vocals also getting very grim sounding and when guitar solos and leads are added onto the recording they are done in a very melodic and old school style as well as clean singing and acoustic guitars also be heard briefly.
Fallen Tyrant plays a style of black metal that is very old school sounding while also being very different at the same time, the production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover nuclear war themes.
In my opinion Fallen Tyrant are a very great sounding old school black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Shifting Tides Around The Rhine" "Children of A Nuclear Dawn" a nd "Astonomy". 8 out of 10.
