Anachronist are a solo project from an unknown area that plays a very raw and melodic form of black metal and this is a review of his 2024 ep "The Fall Of Opulence" which will be released in July by Fiadh Productions.
A very heavy and melodic sound starts off the ep before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also utilizes a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. All of the musical instruments on he recording also have a very powerful sound to them and the vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams.
The songs also add in a good mixture of both modern and old school influences while the songs also bring in a good balance between slow, mid paced and fast parts. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very raw yet melodic style along with one song also adding in a brief use of clear singing, synths are also added on the closing track
Anachronist plays a style of black metal that is very raw, aggressive and melodic sounding. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover the ideological themes of an anachronist.
In my opinion Anachronist are a very great sounding raw and melodic black metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "I" and "V". 8 out of 10.
