Nefastoreth are a band from Italy that plays a very raw, orthodox and anti human form of black metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "Imperium Serpentis Evangelli" which was relased by Vanth Productions.
Gregorian chants start off the album along with some avant garde sounds before going into more of a fast and raw black metal direction along with blast beats and grim sounding screams and after awhile the music starts bringing in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and a good portion of the tracks are very long and epic in length.
All of the songs have a very old school and traditional black metal vibe to them while some of the tracks also incorporate a decent amount of dark sounding melodies along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them and as the album progresses brief guitar leads can be heard in certain sections of the recording and a couple of the tracks also brings in a small amount of keyboards and spoken word samples before making a return back to a fast and raw style of black metal a couple one of the songs also bring in a brief use of clean singing.
Nefastoreth plays a style of black metal that is very pure, raw, fast and misanthropic while also having a ritualistic atmospheric to them at times, the production sounds very dark, raw and heavy while the lyrics cover dark, anti human, occult and left hand path themes.
In my opinion Nefastoreth are a very great sounding raw, orthodox and anti human black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Sacred Exile" "Martyr" and "Imperium Serpentis Evangelli". 8 out of 10.
