Vulturium Memoriae are a 1 man band from Italy that plays a mixture of melancholic darkwave and post black metal and this is a review of his 2014 album "Nato Per Ragiono Ignote" which was released by Avantgarde Music.
A very dark and avant garde sound starts off the album and after a minute powerful sounding bass guitars are added into the music along with some distorted yet melodic guitar leads which gives the music more of a darkwave and post rock feeling along with most of the tracks being very long and epic in length.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great amount of atmospheric doom metal elements and all of the songs are instrumental and they also stick to a slow musical direction and as the album progresses more of the ambient and depressive style of black metal starts to mix in with the more dark and melancholic post rock/darkwave sound of the album and none of the tracks ever utilize any rhythm guitars while some of the songs do bring in a small amount of clean playing.
Vulturium Memoriae combines a variety of many different musical genres from ambient, depressive black metal, atmospheric doom, darkwave and post rock to create an instrumental album that is very hard to categorize and the production sound s very dark yet powerful at the same time.
In my opinion Vulturium Memoriae are a very great sounding mixture of melancholic darkwave and post black metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Onde Psichiche Di Coscienza" and "Grigiore A Cielo Aparto". 8 out of 10.
