Dismal Euphony/All Little Devils/Napalm Records/1999 CD Review

Dismal  Euphony  where  a  band  from  Norway  that  played  a  very  atmospheric  form  of  dark/black  metal  with  gothic  elements  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  1999  album  "All  Little  Devils"  which  was  released  by  Napalm  Records.

Drums  range  from  slow  to  mid  paced  drumming  with  no  fast  playing  or  blast  beats  being  present on  this  recording,  while  the  keyboards  bring  a  very  dark  and  atmospheric  sound  to  the  recording  with  some  gothic  elements,  as  for  the  bass  playing  it  has  a  very  strong  and  powerful  sound  with heavy  riffing  that  dominates  throughout  the  recording.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow to  mid  paced  dark/black  metal  riffs  that  utilize  a  great  amount  of  melody  in  the  riffing  as  well  as  a  good  amount  of  soft  and  clean  playing,  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  melodic  sounding  heavy  metal  guitar  solos  and  leads,  as  for  the  acoustic  guitars  when  they  are  utilized  they  use  finger  picking  to  add  some  more  dark  atmosphere  to  the  music.

Vocals  range  from  high  pitched  black  metal  screams,  deep  death  metal  growls  to  clean  singing  female  vocals  as  well  as  some  whispers  being  utilized  at times  in  addition  there  is  a  brief  spoken  word  parts  being  used  on  one  song,  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  and  poetic  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  strong,  powerful,  heavy  and  professional  sound  where  you  can  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  this  album.

In  my  opinion  this  was  a  very  great  sounding  recording  from  Dismal  Euphony  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  band,  you  probably  already  own  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Days  Of  Sodom"  "Victory"  "Psycho  Path"  and  "Scenario".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
