Servi Diaboli are a band from Spain that plays a very melodic, raw and primitive form of occult black metal and this is a review of their self released 2013 ep "We Are Hidden".
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast playing with some blast beats being utilized at times, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful sound with heavy riffing that dominates throughout the recording.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that are very dark, raw and primitive sounding along with a good amount of melody being thrown into the riffing as well as some clean playing and old school death metal influences, while the lead guitars when they are utilized are very dark, raw and primitive sounding black metal guitar solos and leads.
Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams with some deep growls being used at times, while the lyrics cover Occultism, Necromancy, Vampirism and Death, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it while you can still hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Servi Diaboli are a very great sounding dark, melodic, raw and primitive black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Sinful Souls" and "The First Night Of A Vampire". RECOMMENDED BUY.
