Cult Of Apophis are a band from Port Huron, Michigan that plays a mixture of dark black metal and doom and this is a review of their self released 2013 demo "Murder House Demos Volume 1".
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with not much in the way of blast beats, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that are coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast riffs that combine raw and primitive black metal with doom to create a sound of their own and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.
Vocals range from grim sounding high pitched black metal screams to deep growls with some clean singing and spoken word parts being used on the last song, while the lyrics cover dark themes, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive demo sound to it
In my opinion Cult Of Apophis are a very great sounding hybrid of primitive black metal and dark doom metal and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Hills Of Eyes". RECOMMENDED BUY.
