Nidmorker are a band from Sweden that plays a very tortured form of black metal along with some elements of dark ambient and death industrial and this is a review of their 2018 ep "Hinc Tuo Confisi Aegritudo Ac Dolerem" which was released by fila Sophiae.
A very dark and ritualistic sound starts off the album along with some demonic voices also being used briefly while the sounds of humans being tortured can also be heard. Elements of noise of death industrial are also added into the music at times as well as a brief use of spoken word parts.
Dark sounding melodies can also be heard in some of the heavier riffing while a couple of the tracks are very long and epic in length. Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams and towards the end of the first track whispered spoken words can also be heard briefly and you can also hear an influence of Xasthur in some parts of the music.
A touch of dark ambient can also be heard in the music while it is covered with more of a black metal style and when the music finally speeds up briefly a small amount of blast beats can also be heard. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover darkness, depression and Satanism themes.
In my opinion Nidmorker are a very great sounding tortured and demented black metal band with some touches of dark ambient and death industrial and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Advent Tristii" and "Anaktoria". 8 out of 10.
