Terror Oath are an international band with members from New Zealand and the United States that plays a bestial mixture of war, black and death metal and this is a review of their self titled 2014 which will be re-issued in March of 2019 by Iron Bonehead Productions.
A very fast, raw and chaotic war metal sound starts off the ep which also uses a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very chaotic style along with the vocals being a mixture of black metal screams and bestial growls.
A lot of the music also captures the primal aggression of the 90's Australian war metal style while being modern at the same time. On the second track the music also starts adding in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with a small amount of dark sounding melodies coming out of the guitar riffing.
The last track is very long and epic in length and also adds in some war sounds to the recording before returning back to a heavier direction and the music always remains very raw and brutal as well as all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover misanthropy, war and Armageddon themes.
In my opinion Terror Oath are a very great sounding war metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Terror Oath". 8 out of 10.
