This is a review of another recording from Sarcalogos which continues their old school approach to satanic black metal and this is a review of their self released 2010 album "In The Name Of The Christ Killer" which was re-issued and remastered in 2012.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of blast beats being thrown into the music at times and if there is any bass guitar on this recording it is very hard to hear.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast old school black metal riffs that are very dark, heavy, raw and primitive sounding along with some melody, thrash, death metal and punk influences being thrown into the riffing as well as a brief use of soft and clean playing and there are little to no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.
Vocals are mostly grim sounding and high pitched black metal screams that have a very depressive tone to them at times as well as a brief use of deep demonic growls and spoken word parts, while the lyrics cover Satanism, Anti Christian, Alchemy, Occultism and Suicide themes, as for the production it has a very dark, heavy, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Sarcalogos and if you are a fan of old school, satanic black metal with a depressive edge, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "In Nomine Sarcalogos Occisor (In The Name Of The Christ Killer)" "Bloodletting Upon The Altar" and "The Prevalence Of Alchemy". RECOMMENDED BUY.
