In League With Satan are a band from Italy that plays a very raw and experimental black metal and this is a review of their self released 2009 album which was re-issued in 2015 by Merdumgiriz.
A very raw and noisy black metal sound starts off the album along with some grim screams, goat sounds, programmed blast beats and chaotic guitar leads and elements of death metal and grindcore can be heard at times and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Deep guttural growls can be heard in some parts of the songs and the music can be very experimental at times and as the album progresses drones can be heard in certain sections of the recording and the songs also bring in a touch of doom metal with the melodic riffs and most of the music is rooted in the 90's.
In League With Satan plays a style of black metal that is very raw but also gets more experimental and also mixes in elements of grindcore and death metal to create a style of their own, the production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover Satanism, Blasphemy, Anti Christianity, Darkness and War themes,
In my opinion In League With Satan are a very great sounding raw and experimental black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this re-issue. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Goddess Of Bestial Lust" "Fetid Heresy" and "Daughter Of The Ancient Ones". 8 out of 10.
