This is a review of a split cassette between United Kingdom's K'vor and Atra Mors which will be released on March 11th by Legions Ov Darkness and we will start of the review with K'vor a band that plays a very raw and chaotic form of black metal.
Their side of the split starts out with a very fast, raw and old school black metal sound along with a great amount of blast beats while the vocals are mostly high pitched screams and the music also adds in a great amount of French influences and melodies can also be heard at times along with all of the musical instruments sounding powerful.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the songs sound like they could of easily been recorded and released 20 or more years ago and one track brings in a bass lead along with a brief use of melodic yet raw guitar leads and the music also always remains very and dark, the production sounds very raw and old school while the lyrics cover dark, misanthropic and occult themes.
In my opinion K'vor are a very great sounding raw and chaotic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out their side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Black Spell, Armageddon" and "Slave to The Night".
Next up is Atra Mors a band that plays a very negative and misanthropic form of black metal.
Their side of the split starts out with a very distorted amp sound before going into a very fast, raw and melodic direction which also utilizes a great amount of blast beats as well as some high pitched black metal screams and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the vocals also adding in a grim atmosphere.
Throughout their side of the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the guitar leads also stick to a raw style of black metal and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and there is also a brief use of deep growls while the faster sections of the songs also use a great amount of tremolo picking and there is also a brief use of synths as their side of the split progresses, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover negative, misanthropic and dark themes.
In my opinion Atra Mors are a very great sounding raw and misanthropic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this split. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Genocide Plague" and "Tyrant of the Wilds".
In conclusion i feel this is a very great sounding split and I would recommend it to all fans of raw and misanthropic black metal. 8 out of 10.
