Morte Lune are a band from the United Kingdom that plays a mixture of black and dark ambient and this is a review of their 2017 album "The Endless Forest" which was released by Carveti Productions.
A very dark, lo-fi yet heavy guitar sound starts off the album and a few seconds later melodic guitar leads are added onto the recording along with the music also speeding up and bringing in a great amount of blast beats while the vocals are mostly grim yet high pitched black metal screams and the tremolo picking gives the songs more of a raw feeling.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the riffs also use a decent amount of melody and on the other side of the album thunder sounds are brought into the music briefly along with some synths which also takes the tracks into more of an atmospheric and ambient direction and the following songs are all in an instrumental direction.
Morte Lune displays 2 different sides of their musical style on this recording with the music starting out in more of a raw black metal direction while the other half of the recording is done in more of a dark ambient direction, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover darkness and nature themes.
In my opinion Morte Lune are a very great sounding mixture of raw black metal and dark ambient and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Deliverance Of Suffering" "The Endless Forest" and "Possessed By The Night". 8 out of 10.
