Dekadent are a band from Slovenia that has been featured before in this zine and plays an atmospheric form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2016 album "Dekada-A Manifest of Liberty".
Ambient style synths start off the album before going into a very fast and raw musical direction that also uses a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats along with some high pitched black metal screams and they also mix the synths in with the heavier sections of the songs that give the music a more atmospheric feeling.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and when guitar solos and leads are utilized they done in a very dark and melodic fashion and deep growls are also used at times and clean signing can also be heard in certain sections of the recording and symphonic elements can also be heard at times and a couple of the tracks are very long and epic in length along with the riffs also using a decent amount of melody and there is also a brief use of acoustic guitars on one of the tracks.
Dekadent compiles a bunch of tracks from previous releases and re-records them and they also have the atmospheric black metal style of previous albums, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover loss, mourning, and death themes.
In my opinion this is a very great sounding collection of songs fro Dekadent and if you a re a fan of atmospheric black metal, you should check out this compilation. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Kires" "A Cry of Revolt" and "Blind Finale". 8 out of 10.
