Axioma are a band from Cleveland, Ohio that plays an atmospheric and dark mixture of black, death and post metal and this is a review of t heir 2017 ep "Opia" which was released by Tartarus Records.
A very heavy and melodic sound starts off the ep along with a great amount of blast beats and tremolo picking which also gives the songs a more raw feeling and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording and after awhile aggressive shouts and black metal screams make their presence known.
Elements of doom metal can be heard in the slower sections of the songs and acoustic guitars can also be heard in certain sections of the recording along with one track being all instrumental and as the ep progresses elements of death, dark and post metal are added onto the recording along with some atmospheric soundscapes.
Axioma plays a musical style that takes atmospheric black metal, death, doom and post metal and mixes them together to create something different, the production sounds very powerful for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover dark and philosophical themes.
In my opinion Axioma are a very great sounding atmospheric and dark mixture of black, death, and post metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "No God" and "Giver Of Time". 8 out of 10.
