Germany's Eisregen have returned with a new recording that continues their dark style of black metal with some elements of goth and this is a review of their 2017 album "Fleischfilm" which was released by Massacre Records.
Goth style keyboards start off the album along with some heavy riffs and grim black metal s creams a few seconds later and melodic singing is also used quite a bit throughout the recording and the keys also gives the songs a horror movie atmosphere at times along with the riffs also using a decent amount of melody.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them and when guitar solos are utilized they are done in a very melodic fashion and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while whispered vocals are also used briefly and some tracks also add in a small amount of classical and acoustic guitars as well as a brief use of folk music elements and stringed instruments.
Eisregen creates another recording that remains true to the dark and original style of black metal from previous recordings, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics a re written in German and are a concept album based upon the Italian horror movies of the 70's and 80's.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Eisregen and if you are a fan of this band, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Hauch des Totes" "Tiefrot" "Menschenfresser" and "Satan Der Reich". 8 out of 10.
