Slaegt are a band from Denmark that plays a mixture of black and heavy metal and this is a review of their 2017 album "Domnus Mysterium" which will be released in June by Van Records.
Distorted yet melodic guitar leads start off the album along with some classical guitars also being utilized briefly which also leads up to a heavier musical direction and the riffs also use a great amount of classic metal style melodies and after awhile black metal screams make their presence known.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of both retro and modern elements while the faster sections of the songs also use a decent amount of blast beats while a great amount of NWOBHM elements can be heard at times.
All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them along with a great portion of the traks being very long and epic in length and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and as the album progresses a brief use of spoken word parts can be heard and there is also a brief use of pianos on a later track.
Slaegt plays a musical style that is mostly rooted in black metal while also mixing in traditional and classic metal elements to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover hatred, individaulism, isolation and magick themes.
In my opinion Slaegt are a very great sounding mixture of black and heavy metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENED TRACKS INCLUDE "I Smell Blood" "The Eye Of The Devil" and "Remember It's A Nightmare". 8 out of 10.
