Goatsmegma are a band from Estonia that plays a bestial mixture of war, black and death metal and this is a review of their 2019 album "Demonic Goat Smega Eatign Ritual" which was released by Morbid Chapel Records.
A very fast, raw and brutal war metal sound starts off the album along with a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are a mixture of bestial growls and black metal screams and the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as adding in some 90's influences.
A great portion of the tracks are also very short in length while touches of old school doom/death metal can also be heard in the slower sections of the songs. one of the tracks also introduces a small amount of dark sounding melodies onto the recording and the whole album also sticks to a heavier direction.
Goatsmegma plays a musical style that takes bestial war metal and mixes it with some elements of 90's era death metal to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover Satanism, Left Hand Path, Blasphemy and Perversion themes.
In my opinion Goatsmegma are a very great sounding bestial war metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Fornicating In Goat Feces" "Licking The Goat's Vaginal Prolapse In The Name Of Baphomet" and "Urophilic Human Sacrifice". 8 out of 10.
